Serious question. As someone from south america, i never quite understood all this taboo around the word “n~~~~”. Like, people saying “the N Word” like is voldemort or something.

You guys probably saw this video this week:

White Dude Drops N-Bomb In Front Of Black Guy On CNN… Host’s Reaction Says It All

I really don’t get it. Why is it so bad for a white person to say it? Is it ofensive? Then why black people say this the whole time? I makes absolutely no sense to me.

    Okay.

Lets be clear. N~~~~ is an epithet that african americans began to use as a term like “brother”.

The totally offensive term is spelled ending in “er”. That is a term slave owners used to refer to their slaves. It is offensive no matter who used it.

Either way, it is a horrible thing for anyone to say, no matter their heritage.

At least that is my understanding.

No longer can we walk away, we must run. Remove the motive power.

Not true. Slave “owners” were generally at least moderately educated, and as such use the term “negro”, which is simply Spanish and Portuguese for “black”. And how did the Spanish word for black become associated with black slaves? Probably because it was the Spaniards and Portuguese who first went into importing enslaved Africans to the Americas in a big way to replace all the native slaves who were going extinct from imported diseases like smallpox and malaria. English speaking slave “owners” probably adopted the Spanish word, using the Spanish adjective as a noun, to distance themselves from having to admit the humanity of their supposed “property”. The word “black” is an adjective, and as such needs a noun for it to describe. Calling an African a “black” has an implied “man” after it. But by calling us “negros” they could pretend we weren’t really men, not entirely human, thereby mollifying themselves for the shame of being piece of s~~~ scumbag slave “owners” brutalizing their fellow men and stealing the fruit of their labors.

The word “n~~~~~” is what you get when uneducated illiterate inbred white trash peckerwoods stop breathing through their slack jawed permanently open mouths for a moment to try to say “negro”.

It started being used as an insult because when the aforementioned uneducated illiterate inbred white trash peckerwoods tried to think up an insult, they were too stupid to come up with anything better than superficialities like skin color. And even then the best they could do was mispronounce the Spanish. I mean black insults for whites like “crisco” have at least a little thought and metaphor put into them.

It is offensive no matter who used it.

Only because so many of us would rather make a career out of taking offense instead of making something of ourselves.

If you call a white man “cracker” or “peckerwood” or “mayonnaise” or my personal favorite “double honky”, he’ll just laugh at you. Because he knows it doesn’t apply. The only white people who give a s~~~ about being called peckerwoods are the actual white trash.

But if some white jackass calls a black man a “n~~~~~”, everyone freaks the f~~~ out because we are not confident enough in our accomplishments to laugh at the f~~~head for saying it. We only brush it off when the black man being so called is extremely accomplished, and even then too many of us still freak the f~~~ out.

tl;dr: Words only have the power we give them. And we give some words way too much power.

N~~~~~ was used by slave masters
N~~~~ is used by hip hop artist
Anyway you dice it it’s getting silly and should be ignored either way. Its amazing how one word can divide a whole room so people use it to maintain that divide when needed. Go Your Own Way…..

Never lose sight of what brought you here.

I see that term on YouTube often and it’s used by people that are black and have very poor spelling and grammar.

When travelling in the US, do not use the term “n~~~~” or any of its derivatives, unless it is clear and obvious that you are the descendant of Africans.

Yes, it is hypocritical that one man may say one of the n-words and another may not, but that is the way it is.

if you want to keep race hatred going,
    continue to use the word.
since the vast majority of people who say it are black,
i see the wish for the continuation of victimhood.
why drop the victim card when it gets you so much?
    sad.
the way to stop racism is to stop talking about race.

There are some historical sources that say otherwise. The Portuguese imported African slaves because the south American Indians would refuse to work and died when enslaved. They actually died from lack of freedom.
Since the African slaves had no such problem…

Interesting to me that uttering “n~~~~” can stop the world from rotating, but the 50+ years that the “war on poverty” has wrought poverty and worse upon the black community is continually dismissed, and actually championed by many who fancy themselves progressive…

Sure the word is wrong, but to focus on the words without addressing the underlying evil is the worst kind of virtue signaling.

Actually the “N” word can have racial and social status implications. The powerful rich land owners were the “Massas” and the black slaves were the “N” word. It still applies today to people of any race who have to kiss someone’s ass to survive. It is coming to describe men of all colors in gynocentric society – the wimin be da Massas and men be the “N” words.

I’m a black man and I’m not in support of the use of that word in an improper context by anyone- black man or not.

Slavery has ended a long time ago. Except you see a black man in 2016, “picking cottons” for a “white massa” in exchange for “bread crumbs”, don’t call him that.

The use of it as an endearing term amongst other brothers and intended only for blacks seems to me to only perpetuate the racial divide making the use of the word a double standard, being ok socially for a black person to use and not ok for a non black to use. Honestly if people really wanted to end all this racial crap that the left has stirred up to promote victimhood and entitlement, people need to quite giving the word such power and ignore it as such assigning little to no power to it. Of course that will not happen, too many people are plugged into TV world. The use of the word that bears such power to offend by any to me is a sign of ignorance and low intellect regardless of skin color. It is self degrading to ones being and character to use the N word regardless of context or spin on it. It is another label the ruling class wishes to continue to keep around keeping the proletariats fighting amongst themselves, blinding them to the reality of their situation. Those that use the word are playing into someone else’s label and stereo type. Do not play into the games of the 1%, victimhood mentalities and entitlement. The hate game always consumes all its players removing the humanity from all, turning men into monsters ready to slit the others throat because someone told them to. You can loose many a dear friends and friends to be because of such stupid ideals.

That’s just how I see that subject. Hate and the perpetuation of it by keeping such terms around no matter the context with the double standard attached it that is, is just plain stupid and a ruse to hide the doings of the 1%. There is an evil agenda behind it.

Wrong. We starting talking POSITIVELY about race, not ignoring it.

I have discovered a truly remarkable list of reasons why women are not necessary for a happy life, but alas this margin is too small to contain it.

    #356045

There is no difference between “n~~~~” and “n~~~~~”. They both mean the same thing no matter who is is saying it. For those too lazy to pronounce it correctly, “n~~~~~”, “n~~~~” is what will come out of their mouths. But Tommy can explain it better than I can.

Interestingly, recently they’ve been doing a lot of great research on DNA and RNA and heredity and what they have found is that there is no genetic marker for race. In other words, the traits that separate the races, like epicanthal folds in asians, etc, were so small of a difference that it was not detectable by modern molecular genetic methods.

But women are only 85% similar genetically to men…it’s the extra x, simple really.

So screw the word n~~~~, I won’t say it if it p~~~es people off, no skin off my teeth.

N~~~~~ is by far the most offensive word in the English language, it riles up people in a way even words like c~~~ and f~~~ can only dream of.
