To be honest, I came here to gain some more knowledge on the philosophical perspective as I do doctoral research and have some male-fellowship. I am a member of ALOT of forums and I am required to log hours online for my research degree, forums are permitted and I do not have to specify, but I would be allowed to use MGTOW as my dissertation will be based ALOT on sexuality anyway. This site isn’t quite the same thing as the Christian TRADCON sites. As you may have noticed. So to many of the guys that point of view is suspect. I get it because I’m Christian but as I said earlier many MANY members dislike religion of any kind and have in the past chased off the site those folks. I stay because I’m also an stubborn unpleasant asshole and I won’t be chased off by anyone.

There are exceptions to every rule and its is quite possible your marriage is the exception. However, an MGTOW does not believe that the percentages favour marriage, cohabitation etc…. It would be like planning your retirement by buying lottery tickets. It could work out… you could “invest” the money you could otherwise invest in a long term investment for retirement on lottery tickets. And… you might just win and it would all work out. But is that likely? No. Is that a wise strategy? No. If your marriage is exactly as you describe it then you my friend have won the lottery, with the important difference that if you won the lottery your winnings would be safe, as long as you managed them correctly, but if you marry a NAWALT it could change at any time and your position is not secure.

BTW I also have an MA in Western Philosophy.

I f you want a philosophical perspective consider Kant’s view that to be a moral agent you must possess rationality to make informed decisions and the autonomy to act on those decisions. We view marriage as an abdication of autonomy, sovereignty, etc… thus, marriage makes you less of an agent capable of being truly authentic, creative, autonomous and even a complete human being.

yeah, its not hard to look me up….I use the same handle and pic and bio for all the forums i’m a member of….Nothing to hide, and I could be traced back to social media pretty easily too if you REALLY wanted to, and I don’t care, and you’ll find that nothing I said here is a lie.

It’s difficult for one to be “going their own way” when they’re married since the very principle of marriage has the man looking out for everyone but himself. Has him making decisions for what’s in the best interest of the FAMILY. That means he’s not going his own way at all. He can do things he wants to do. So long as the wife doesn’t contest it (basically giving him permission). That’s not going your own way.
