Lucas brings a lot of points we talk about here, like the future of robotics and how real women almost do not stand a chance.
My view on this movie starts like this,….Right now today with that level of cgi actresses and actors are irrelevant, replaceable.

I agree, however what we need is good writing and good movies.

If you watched that movie, I don’t know how you did it. Did you shoot yourself with a tranq-dart and slam a 40oz, sleep through half the movie? Then bravely pronounce, ‘I survived Alita Warrior Princess!’

The menataur maze episode scared the s~~~ out of me as a kid. Had nightmares. LOL

Not quite. It’s getting there, but the cost of getting all the actors to be cgi in a movie isn’t affordable yet. You can do a few characters in the big budget movies, but not the whole cast.

I agree, however what we need is good writing and good movies.

IMO, and based on comments I’ve seen/read that makes sense to me, much of the problems that come up in writing occurs when the agenda/message is put ahead of the story. So a movie that starts off with the idea that, women can do what men can do, puts its message ahead of the story. It forgets to make real characters into real situations that the audience can sympathize with and understand. The agenda dictates that the characters act in ways that men and women wouldn’t act in real life if presented with those situations. You’re asking the audience to suspend their belief for the sake of the agenda, but then belief that the agenda driven movie reflects on real life somehow.

Ghostbusters is a great example. It’s not hard to imagine a group of 4 men with academic backgrounds stumbling through blue-collar work. We all know men who work these jobs. Yes, the ghosts are unreal, but how the characters react to them appear authentic. You can’t do that with 4 women. 4 women with academic backgrounds doing blue collar work is not anything that anyone is familiar with. The few women we do know are often skating through their job and dependent on men. And the reactions these women have to ghost don’t match up with the way women behave in real life.

It’s not that you can’t have women in roles, or even women in action roles. They just need to behave in ways that we’d expect women to behave.

    Ok. Then do it.

Battle Angel as i remember as a kid was one of my favorite Mangas. They’ve screwed up Dragon Ball, Ghost in the Shell… Can they possibly get one Japanese movie right for once??? Im curious about it. Its not one of those Mangas that would be at the top of my list for live action. Why not Ninja Scroll?

Oh well… We’ll see what happens. The trailer looks DOPE! I’ll give it a shot! I didnt even realize it was out already. XD

Just dont get into this kind of stuff. Its just not how real women act. Too much disbelief to suspend.

Now give me Princess from Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

I watched this movie last Thursday at the theaters. I didn’t know the manga before and I guess I will check it out.

I also liked the Ghost in the Shell movie and I watched it at the theathers as well.

Of course those movies never hold up to the source material but I don’t understand why the fans don’t try to look at the bright side that they get more people to be interested in the IP and to look out the source.

Cool action scenes and some interesting themes. I am biased because I like cyberpunk stories. It’s definitely a recommendation in my opnion.

I didn’t notice any of the far left agenda that is so prevalent at the current movies from hollywood.

Of course badass women is a thing that is only possible in fiction. Same way cute, loving and feminine girls are only possible in anime, manga and other fiction not yet touched by SJWs.

I got used to it because I realized that if fiction had to conform to what people really are and limited by what they can really be in real life then stories would be unwatchable and completely uninteresting.

What turns me off a movie is when they preach directly to me like those SJW directors love to do. That breaks the fourth wall and breaks my suspension of disbelief.

For example, I will be skipping Captain Marvel for it’s pandering to feminism made obvious in the casting, the marketing and trailers and I will also be skipping part two of Avengers Infinite War since the people involved with the movie have heavily hinted it’s Captain Marvel who will defeat Thanos and steal the movie’s spotlight.

Pity and contempt are siblings. You only feel pity for those you consider weak.

Finally got around to watching the movie. Overall give it an 8 out of 10. The ending is obvious a set up for the next in a series, and the last 1/5th or so pointing in that direction. With a better ending I would have given it a better score. On that topic as always it seems these days a good movie is panned by the critics but the public loves it.

I’ll be going to see Battle Angel Alita on the weekend that Captain Marvel comes out. That will be my way of dissing Captain Marvel. Not my idea actually; my son’s.

All my life I've had doubts about who I am, where I belonged. Now I'm like the arrow that springs from the bow. No hesitation, no doubts. The path is clear. And what are you? Alive. Everything else is negotiable. Women have rights; men have responsibilities; MGTOW have freedom. Marriage is for chumps. If someone stands in the way of true justice, you simply walk up behind them and stab them in the heart-R'as al Ghul.

I saw it a few weeks ago. It’s an OK movie, which makes it a great movie when compared with the other crap that’s out there. It stuck reasonably close to the manga, though was a little closer to the OVAs, and it’s not like you can fit an epic like GUNNM into a single film. I think Kishiro probably should have had more input on the script than however much he did. Also the BESM CGI on Alita bugged the hell out of me. That uncanny valley s~~~ was completely unnecessary.

Your son has good taste. Somehow, though, I think they will manage to force Alita out of theaters that weekend to boost Captain Mediocre ticket sales like they forced fans negative opinions of it off the review sites.

If hollywood has to go that far to protect Captain MarySue, it must be really awful. I suspect it’s even worse than that, and it’s going to tank Avengers Endgame ticket sales as well. If they were smart, they would have shelved the project the moment Larsen opened her whore mouth and turned their mediocre movie into a public relations nightmare.

Hadn’t seen any bad reviews, but seen plenty of complaints about Larson’s behavior. I do have concerns about the quality of the movie, and whatever liberal feminist agenda it might carry, but I have seen that preview audience are liking it. I’m basically committed to marvel movies through Endgame (and surely spiderman) so I’ll deal with this for now. I seriously doubt it’s going to get Star Wars level bad just yet.

    Ok. Then do it.

    Hadn’t seen any bad reviews,

I haven’t seen any bad reviews either, only glowing reviews from the whore professional movie “critic” shills. Which are worth less than worthless.

What I have seen is a whole lot of people saying they aren’t going to waste twelve bucks to see that particular dumpster fire. And the corporate media couldn’t even let that be heard. They are that desperate to pimp this Captain MarySue s~~~ show and crush any voice that challenges that.

And that, more than any of the s~~~ Bree Snowflake has said, is why their film deserves to fail. It needs to fail.

but I have seen that preview audience are liking it.

Only because dissenting opinions have been thoroughly quashed.

I’m basically committed to marvel movies through Endgame

    Seriously?

No offense, but that’s either really autistic or really pathetic. They’re just superhero movies. I would hate to be a movie studio’s captive bitch like that. I mean I liked Ghostbusters, I even thought Ghostbusters 2 was OK, but there was no way I was damn fool enough to give hollywood twelve bucks to see that 2016 crapstravaganza.

As long as fools keep paying to see s~~~, they’ll keep making s~~~.

Please. You entirely meant that offense. Not complaining. Your comments/opinion are reasonable and justified.

I don’t see Ghostbusters and the MCU as being parallel at all. Ghostbusters women had little connectivity to the original, no story ties or anything of that nature. Skipping the movie the movie would have no impact on enjoying a future ghostbusters movie, particularly since nothing was planned at the time.

MCU is a continuous story line. The events in Cap Marvel are likely to impact the events in Endgame. At the very least, it will develop the character. I’ve invested in the MCU and enjoy it. Whether the movie is crap or not, I like the series overall and don’t want to hinder my own enjoyment of it.

And these really aren’t just superhero movies to me, this is bonding experiences with my kids.

BTW, I did see Ghostbuster 2016, not really because I wanted to but because I have kids who wanted to. And they know exactly how stupid I thought it was. Same goes for the last 2 Star Wars movies.

    Ok. Then do it.

I will probably see Battle Angel THIS weekend, probably Sunday with my son after my girlfriend goes back to her house for the evening.

Then I’ll probably skip Captain Marvel, unless audience scores reflect it not being SJW crap, if it actually is a decent movie reviewed by people who’s opinion I respect.

Even then, I’m just about snarked off enough at Brie Larson to skip it even if it is a good movie. If it turns out to be a really good movie, and it is devoid of MarySue and feminist BS, and is simply a good Marvel movie, I may flip a coin.

I guess some people are bored enough to go to the movie theatre for any ol’ reason, crappy femme hero s~~~ included?

I practice avoided them at Redbox 2 months after they came out. There is no bloody way I will go to the theater for that.

List of Movies I’ve gone to the Movie Theatre for in the last decade:

    The Predator
    Alien Covenant (twice)
    Bladerunner 2049 (thrice)
Life (was bored, it was ‘okay’)
Star Wars The Last Jedi (forced into it by blue pill friends, it wasnt as bad as Force Awakens but still)
The Death of Stalin (Indi theatre, it was actually REALLY funny)
    Spectre
    Mission Impossible Rouge Nation
    Mission Impossible Fallout
    Skyfall
    Dunkirk

Most movies I wait for Redbox (certainly all Superhero movies if I watch them at all, I’m too mature to get off on ‘superpowers’) Like that Ghost in the Shell film, totally skipped it, evevn on Redbox too lol. That zombie nazi movie Overlord. Waited for Redbox and was glad I did, it sucks hard. Every now and then I skip one I wish I hadn’t like Sicario Day of the Soldado.

Upcoming films Im going to the theatre for: Dune in 2020 and whatever next Alien franchise film they make to finish the prequels. Also anything with deep space or possible with titties I will pay to see LOL.

It’s usually not a matter of what movie you want to see, its a matter of WHO MADE IT? When one of these names is Director, Im highly interested and I hold off on watching the trailer because I dont want it spoiled.

    Yorgos Lanthimos
    Jonathan Glazer
    Ridley Scott
James Cameron when its Rated R
    David Fincher
    Denis Villeneuve
Steven Spielberg when its Rated R
    Steven Soderbergh
Neil Bloomkamp (keeping a close eye on this hotshot)
Alex Garland (made Ex Machina… not sure if he sucks yet)
Martin Scorsese (this guy I never knew about, simply because everything I liked, he made! LOL It just got past me for years)
    Christopher Nolan
    Danny Boyle
    Terry Gilliam

When it’s not one of these names, I need to see the trailer to make sure Im not being duped. Thats how I find the new directors. Like 5 years ago, I didn’t know about Vilenueve or Lanthimos

Robert Rodriguez is not on my list! He makes cheap action movies and kid movies. Same reason Michael Bay is not on the list…. But to Rodriguez credit, he is nothing as distasteful as Michael Bay.

They need to start making films for Adult Males. Films like Under the Skin, Eyes Wide Shut, Killing of a Sacred Deer… we need dark weird movies set in deep space with a spaceship and some brunette with nice t~~~. Instead, we get Frozen 3….shoot me.

Saw Eyes Wide Shut in the theater… that was a f~~~ed up movie. That movie made me think a little, but had I thought more I might have started red-pill thought patterns earlier.

Come to think of it, “Boxing Helena” should have started me down the red pill path.

What about light weird movie set in deep space with a spaceship and a blond with nice t~~~? Barbarella? LOL

Im game for that too! Barbarella wasn’t half bad really. I watch that sometimes on DVD. The part where she cums so hard, it breaks the Orgasm Torture Machine. You can’t make this s~~~ up. Where is the films like that today?? I’ve already mentioned Space Station 76 too many times… there just aren’t many good films these days. All the budget goes to superhero s~~~ to appease adult-teenagers… just my opinion, no offense to the comic geeks here, our brothers….yadda yadda

    You entirely meant that offense.

Wrong. You don’t know me. I’m just calling things as I seem them.

Whether or not you choose to take offense is entirely on you. No offense was intended. I was merely making an accurate description of your behavior.

What would you call someone who has to catch every. single. pokemon? Because “Gotta catch ’em all!” Well that’s pretty damn autistic.

What do you call someone who pays out dollar after dollar to buy drinks for every “pretty face” in a bar? Well that’s pretty damn thirsty. And pathetic.

So what do we call someone who has to watch every. single. marvel movie? Because “Gotta watch ’em all!”.

MCU is a continuous story line.

So it’s a soap opera? That’s not a good argument to make.

And trust me, you don’t have to see every damn film to “keep up with your stories”. That’s just what the studio wants you to think so they can milk you of twelve dollars every few months. I’ve only seen about a quarter of the films, and I have no trouble keeping up.

The events in Cap Marvel are likely to impact the events in Endgame.

So what? You think that’s a good thing? Based on the spoilers I’ve seen so far for Captain MarySue, the producers would be better off pretending it never happened lest it take down Endgame with it. But they’re not going to do that if fools continue to pay them for s~~~ movies. As it is, I’m going to take a pass on Endgame for a few weeks after release until trustworthy fan reviews come out for it. It it’s infected with Captain MarySue, I’ll pass on it as well.

I don’t believe in paying my hard earned cash for some movie studio, or anyone, to p~~~ in my mouth.

BTW, I did see Ghostbuster 2016, not really because I wanted to but because I have kids who wanted to.

So you spent more than twelve bucks on that crapfest. Teaching your children to have a little discernment and not throw money away on crap would have been better parenting.

Same goes for the last 2 Star Wars movies.

And that, right there, is why they continue to make crap feminist films. Chumps keep paying them for them.

If it turns out to be a really good movie, and it is devoid of MarySue and feminist BS, and is simply a good Marvel movie,

The script has been leaked. It’s not.

    I may flip a coin.

Just torrent it if you must. Assuming you can find any seeds, that is.

I didn’t notice any of the far left agenda that is so prevalent at the current movies from hollywood.

I don’t really care all that much when a movie has a female lead or a badass female character in it. Its a movie after all, its not real life, I’m just going to be entertained. Jamming a political agenda down my throat does bother me though. I’m paying to be entertained, not indoctrinated.

I haven’t seen Alita yet…but I’ve heard good things from a couple guys at work. It sounds like its actually a good story…with a lead character who happens to be a female. Compare that to the last Star Wars movie. It had a horrible plot and was just a stupid movie, but it managed to jam down our throat the entire movie how men are failures and buffoons and Rey is amazing at everything…GIRL POWER! They really should have focused on the story and not the agenda.
