Here’s a typical bachelor meal I like that’s simple: heat up some ramen noodles in a pot. Sometimes I’ll add chopped onions to it. I don’t cook much because I don’t like doing the dishes. I mostly use a microwave oven to heat stuff up and paper plates. If I’m feeling lazy and don’t want to drive anywhere, I’ll eat some crackers with squirt cheese in a can and some cashews. On rare occasions, I like to bring home some Thai food or Mediterranean food (roasted lamb with pita bread).

What’s your bachelor meal or favorite take out food?

    I love cooking.

I make my own sandwich rolls, and pizza crust. Duck a l’orange, smoked pork shoulder, chicken Parmesan, smoked ribs.

This weekend will be grilled, medium ribeye steak, baked potatoes with all the trimmings, and oven roasted asparagus.

I cook for myself like this because I think that I deserve the best.

I like to cook and have to as I need nutrition to fuel and make my exercise worth while.

I get lazy too! Can’t go wrong with pizza and beer.

I like a nice omelet — easy to make — especially with some portabello mushrooms, melted high quality cheese (anything but Kraft singles or Velveeta) and diced ham. Not much effort. I’m not a food snob but for some reason I cannot stand squeeze cheese.

I love fresh bakery bread or bagels with cheese or sausage — even ‘lazy’ pre-cooked sausage. I have a dishwasher so the dishes don’t bother me. I also love a juicy steak on the grill and baked potato — easy to make.

I also like corn, peas, or other vegetables in rice or noodles.

I also like those cashews! They’re also good to mix up with noodles or rice. Throw in some chicken. If you don’t like to spend a lot of time, buy frozen grilled chicken already pre-cooked.

I cook for myself these days. I like experimenting with recipes and exotic foods that are hard to find in restaurants.

The slow cooker (crock-pot) is a marvelous machine. Takes about ten minutes to load with a thawed chuck or boneless pork roast and fresh vegetables in the morning. Six to eight hours later you will have a home cooked meal. The fresh potatoes, carrots, sliced onions and celery surrounding the roast are done with virtually no effort on your part other than chopping them up and rinsing prior to cooking. They sell slow cooker seasoning packs with instructions to mix with a cup of water for almost every type of roast at the grocery store. You can get cook books just for the slow cooker …each recipe has about five easy steps plus a list of ingredients for things like country style or glazed baby back ribs. Get a roll of plastic crock-pot liners so every time you cook clean up only takes a couple of minutes. Get a cooker with digital control so it will handle everything and you don’t have to worry if you arrive home late …it will automatically cook the meal and re-adjust to keep it warm for you.

I am big on cooking with spices and seasoning, have an entire drawer full of them. Made alot of nasty unedible things to get decent at it. Found out that it helps tremendously to consume alcoholic beverages while cooking. I do charcoal fire grill and butter sautee vegetables mostly, occasionally pasta and homemade sauce. Heart attack and panty dropper food.

But since i moved back to my cabin recently, it has been a much simpler meal course until the kitchen is updated…

Learn how to cook. It is easy. I like to do one pot type dishes; I can cook all kinds of things; but simple and healthy is really easy to do with some prep-work. For example, I am eating a bean soup/stew full of ham, sausage and a mix of vegetables.

I love cooking; I come from a family where men own restaurants; and are the best cooks.

Also it is fun to tell people to get out of your kitchen.

I used to cook elaborate meals weekly enjoying the process when I had money, but now I got lazy and on low budget – I have three courses I alternate, all of which I’m trying to improve.
    It’s
    1) eggs and bacon = bacon + potatoes + cheese + eggs + green onions + sriracha sauce (usually for breakfast)
    2) sandwiches = toasted cottage bread + mayo + havarti cheese + black forest ham + onions + grilled (do this in my toaster oven)
    3) caesar salad = red lettuce + cucumbers + grape tomatoes,+ mixed shredded cheese + green onions + croutons + bacon bits + caesar dressing

If I’m far from home on my lunch break – I go to Jersey Mike’s and eat a 56, or go to Wendy’s and get me some chile with cheese and onions.
And I always carry around a small bottle of Tabasco sauce wherever I go

I can’t cook for diddily squat. I tried to batter some shrimp once or twice, got online followed instructions. Could not get it to happen.

Resturants tend to work if I find one that serves reasonably healthy meals. Microwave TV dinners taste like cardboard so I avoid those. Did find these bags of resturant ‘prepped meals’ that I can heat up in a sauce pan. Not to bad if you get the ones by Newmans Own or PF Changs.

Did learn to make french toast, tastes great if one uses sourdough bread and real maple syrup.

People who know how to cook amaze me.

I enjoy cooking as well, sometimes I will make soups and stews to freeze so when I am having lazy days I can reheat them, most things freeze well except for potatos, rice and pasta.

Push come to shove poached eggs on toast is always a winner.

I wish I cooked. I used to. I’ll bake rainbow trout with the fixings when I catch one, but other than that… the most I will do is steak, chicken, or salmon on the BBQ. Otherwise it’s essentially sandwiches with bakery fresh bread and good deli meats… mmmmm, I love sammies πŸ™‚

I hate fast food. I’ll go to nice restaurants from time to time – the food is absolutely incredible… especially after a continuous diet of sammies πŸ™‚

This particular ingredient helped me through my practice in becoming a good cook.
I grill a lot and use the leftovers for sandwiches.

Favourite take out is still the spicy chicken wrap. Lots of mayo and tabasco.

Avoid TV dinners and soda. Popcorn with cinnamon is a healthy snack.

After weekly farmers market I steam all my veggies and store in fridge. This lasts me 3-5 days.

Rice cooker filled with brown rice everyday and make a salad or juice a cup of greens by lunch.

Cheat meals on paydays are Thai, Indian, or Mexican food.

    You are what you eat.

Making your own lunch/work meals can save you $,$$$ over the year. Put that into your hobbies rather than down the toilet.

Try to cook, it’s not only an excellent way to learn about natural way of living but also keeps you healthy and feeling way better than most people on modern diet (processed canned food).

I love cooking. From slow cooking to pressurized cooking and Vaccum marination. It’s an art and a science in one and resulting food is not only better than most restaurants, it’s nutritious and you know exactly what’s in it.

I have an old lady friend who has a community garden and grows her own vegetables, she gives me tons of it when I visit her. Nothing better than smell of fresh red onion out of the ground.

If you find hard to cook, buy one of these new all-in-one (slow/fast) cookers. You can make literally anything in them, from simple rice to slow cooked lamb shanks.

Stay off fast food if possible, use neuroplasticity in your favour and train to eat healthy, once trained you will not go back to eating s~~~ty food. Eat like a King, Live like a King.

Life consists of two days, one for you one against you. So when it's for you don't be proud or reckless, and when it's against you be patient, for both days are test for you.

When I save up enough money to buy a house, I will definitely grill up some hamburgers, hot dogs, and ribs in my backyard.

I’ve made a bowl of egg salad a few times. I’ve eaten egg salad sandwiches for breakfast. I love them! Tuna salad sandwiches are easy to make.
