Given the percentage of certain ethnic groups that make up the remainder of society after whites are accounted for is the factor that annoys me the most. For argument’s sake, let’s say your ethnic group makes up 15% of the population; why would you expect to have equal representation in TV and film? If the majority of society is white then it would only make sense that whites would be the focus of TV and film. If the entertainment industry aimed the majority of their content at a small demographic at the risk of alienating their biggest market, they would be making a huge financial mistake.

I read an article about why they are mad (I know, but I was bored!)
It was about ‘Straight Outta Compton” not getting enough 1st and 2nd place votes for a win.
It seems like what really happened was that the people doing the voting (old people, mostly white) just didn’t watch it because it was about hip-hop stuff, and they really couldn’t relate. Not racism, more ageism as far as the topic goes. They just weren’t interested. Kind of like if you made a critically-acclaimed, superbly written and acted film about Bronies.
And yes, it’s mostly the hyper-sensitive guilt-ridden white folk who are wringing their hands.
