Its emerged today that several black people have accused the Oscars of being racist and have said they will boycott the event this year as there are not enough black people being nominated. I have just watched a black lady on UK tv explain to me that the Oscar academy are institutionally racist because they are 90% white men and of those 60% are over the age of 60. So it seems that white men over 60 are no judge of a good movie. Then there was a black man telling me that Will Smith is the biggest movie star on Earth. Hmmm, really?

Well, if there are not enough black nominees how many would be enough? Just how many black people do the macadam have to nominate in order to not be racist? And how many of those need to be wimin? How many LGBTG? How many with a disability? Is the motion picture academy of america in the business of recognising and rewarding talent or is it there to divy up and hand out prizes on a strict quota system according to gender, sexuality, race and physical or mental handicap?

    Complete bollocks.

I don’t know brother. I think that the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio has yet to receive one speaks volumes. Then again, it could plain be that it’s more than a race issue, and just a bunch of old bastards showing outright race AND age discrimination. BWHAHAHAHH

Funny, isn't it? How women thrive on a mans time, attention and resources, while simultaneously telling him he isn't enough...

This. I really didn’t see any Oscar-worthy performances that surpassed the nominees. And what about the NAACP Image Awards and Black Reel Awards? They don’t accept white nominees.

I don’t even care about the Oscars at this point. They used to be better.

Oh for f~~~s sake. Who the f~~~ cares about a bunch of over privileged entertainers patting each other on the back. I’m SO incredibly fed up with the self importance and ego beyond proportions.

Imagine the effect on everyday life if every actor in hollywood went on strike for a year: practically none. People might have to connect with one another. Play a game of chess or backgammon. GASP – read a book!

Now imagine the effect if the guys who pick up your garbage went on strike for a year. Or the cops. Or the fire department. Or the guys that fix things like broken water mains/sewer lines/power lines.

Imagine if they all went on strike for a year and then tell me who really deserves to be paid more. And don’t even get me started on royalties. 100 year Copyrights are a blatant theft of culture. You can blame our favorite gynocratic entertainment company, the one with all the princesses, for sponsoring the Sonny Bono copyright extension act for that one.

I say we boycott, at least until they give the common man a fair shake.

How about we all just collectively stop giving a flying f~~~ about the academy in the first place? Problem solved.

    No they are not.

The movie industry is predominately white as the population is predominately white.

Nominating more people of color would be like a feminist act. (undeserving)

Getting things they don’t deserve just because they have a different skin color.

When you think about it like that college scholarships for being a certain race are actually racist and discriminatory.

You know, we are getting into dangerous territory here, because if you went for equal outcome instead of equal opportunity, we will get some really whacky nominees and better performers will get ignored, because they didn’t fit the “checkbox”.

Western movie industry just happens to be predominately white people, so obviously more good actors/actresses to pop up from there, than a lower population of others.

Equal Opportunity, Not Equal outcome, thanks!

Also Oscars are such a f~~~tard fest, I mean Leonardo Dicaprio haven’t gotten an Oscar yet, even though he’s performed stellar in all the latest big films he’s been in, in the past decade, or more. It might be that he’s not married? Who knows, the Oscars are establishment, the system at it’s core, or the propaganda machine of it’s ideologies.

I completely agree, who cares about the c~~~s who get paid millions for reading some one else’s lines sucking each other off telling themselves what great artists they are. But that wasn’t the point of the post.

The point is it is yet another attack on men, in this case white men over 60, by a sub group in society who class themselves as victims. Its all part of the international intersectional feminist plot to link all so called victims into an alliance against the enemy, white men and in so doing they are attempting to turn our black brothers against us. Classic divide and conquer. And you really should give a f~~~ about that I think.

    True dat.

And here I thought I was the only one who despises the attitude of assumption that I should give a s~~~ in the first place.

They act as if they should be the most important thing in the universe, but they’re not. They guy that fixes the sewer is way more important in the grand scheme.

But because they do have an audience, they act as if we should all worship them. I for one would like to see a little more humility on the part of the entertainment establishment, but as long as people are willing to pony up $12-$20 for a movie ticket, I guess the money reinforces their delusions of grandeur.

I re-read my post. Sorry – I didn’t mean it to come off as an attack agint the topic/post/poster.

On the contrary – I couldn’t agree more. I’m just fed up with the whole propaganda-machine-posing-as-art motif in general.

My anger is directed toward the people out there, most of whom are probably from the gynocracy who think I should give a s~~~ about ANY of it, which includes everyone whining about who got nominated and who didn’t.

I think you said it just right SpaceMonkey.

    They’re always complaining about something.

The movie industry is predominately white

    You mean predominately Jewish.

The main ones calling this s~~~ fest “racist” are white liberals.

Besides, I don’t watch the Oscars anyway.

Who cares if the oscars are racist?

The oscars are f~~~ing stupid. The only people more stupid and pretentious than the academy of motion pictures are the people who give a f~~~ about the academy of motion pictures. I mean who do these idiots think should have been nominated? F~~~ing Madea / Tyler Perry?

The razzies are more relevant than the oscars.

Who gives a s~~~ about people who pretend for a living?

Actors should be getting payed less than the average garbage man. Yet they are held as some kind of icons. They aren’t. I just avoid TV all together.
