I didn’t like him, either. He insulted an entire generation of people who fought for what they believed in. Maybe it didn’t turn out so well, but they f~~~ing fought for what they believed in. They deserve respect for that alone.

And yeah, as a milennial who grew up under a baby boomer household, I didn’t make excuses for my failures. I took charge of my situation and made the f~~~ing best of it. I researched the job markets, went to school full-time, worked my ass off, and now I have a good paying job. Most of my friends, cousins, and nephews are NOT in such a great place because they CHOSE to sit on their ass and make babies. They f~~~ing HAD opportunities and didn’t take them. But I saw the opportunities and I took it. It is still possible to succeed if you have the will.

So stop denigrating previous generations for YOUR failures and take control of your life. I understand that life’s not fair and that some of us get handed better cards than others do. But nothing – absolutely NOTHING – excuses an unwillingness to make the best out of your situation and make an attempt to better your life. So stop being a bitch and take control.

I just returned from a “peacekeeping” mission and got called that in 1983, again in 1991 upon returning from Germany (NATO), again in 1994 returning from another “peacekeeping” mission in Yugoslavia. As well as numerous times when in public while in uniform, right up until I retired due to injuries in 2006. Usually by pasty faced, obese, sexually confused social parasites that never experienced any hardship at any level.

As a baby boomer (born 1954) you might want to do a little study in economics to understand how the economy works and what causes cycles. As Margaret Thatcher, a former Prime Minister of the UK said “Socialism works great until you run out of other peoples money.”
