There is no software that can save a failed hard drive or ram chip. When a hard drive fails, you might be able to salvage the information on it, but unless you replace the parts, then you need a new hard drive. If the capacitors blow and leak out on a video card, the only potential way to salvage the video card is with soldering on new capacitors. That’s the analogy he’s using. If your hard drive is not functioning properly, yes there can he software updates to fix such hardware. But if a hardware is damaged, no software will fix it. If you drop your cell phone from 2000ft down to the concrete of the street, no software will make it work again.

Special use cases. Software can reroute failed circuits. Think of it as a variable circuitboard with AI software to detect defects and reroute circuity. Is needed for situations like in space, on a space ship, where fixing is not possible and hardware is mission critical.

“special use”. Which is what anti-depressants are supposed to be. Special use. Because anti-depressants are not a fix all, and as Dr. Paul elaborated on, doesn’t address the stress in life, or how you deal with it. Which is the psychology part he’s talking about.

When I said special use, I was specifically talking about the computer algorithms. I am totally lost now. That’s ok.

After my second divorce I took Zoloft for a week then decided to go another path. Find ways to work out my depression.
In your case, if brothers, sisters and parents, then it might be genetic and much less a chance of not being on a medication. I do wish you the best of luck.

see that’s the thing with taking these things, everyone has a opinion and it takes forever to kick in with side effects

By profession I am a nurse. Something a doctor more often then not will not say and it is generally not good for the patient is that every medication is a crap shot. What works like a charm for me I’m feeling like a million bucks, to the next guy it has him in the medical center with restraints on until the medication wears off.
The genetic bit is just years of work and seeing cause and effect, even though that is not my line of work. I do transplant recovery and long term care. Which has its own list of psy issues. Some people can not come to terms with someone’s body part inside them, even though that is the only thing keeping them alive.
Some little things that can make a big difference. Diet, at least some exercise, do not discount meditation and prayer.
diet- this is really a hard one. in this world everyone lives on processed food, caffeine and alcohol. Cut it all out, no chocolate, pizza, beer, tv dinners. Also takes time to adjust, first time eating healthy will taste like a cardboard box.
exercise- this is the easy 15/20min work up a good sweat.
meditation and prayer- lot of people are going to look at this and go what a bunch of crap. All kinds of studies have proven the opposite to be true.

One other thing, your environment,…by chance old house(lead paint), live near any kind of refinery, air exchange in your living and work space(mold dust in the vents), stress one hell of a big trigger. A good friend that sometimes is just around.

Can you get off or stay off the medication,….wish I could say yes, but it is all trial and error. Hope this helped clear up my previous post.

I would, then start to change what you can in your life. Then see how close you can get to weening yourself off. Sorry but it is going to be trial and error.
Think of it like a patch, covers up the problem, now you can take the time to figure it out and fix the problem.
