I still think that an housewife should be supported after a divorce: she choosed to not work and to keep care of her family, in such case the man have a moral duty towards her.

I’d agree with this is if was 1920 and the average age for a woman to marry was 19 and the first kid was born before the first anniversary.

But its not…its almost 30. Marriage/divorce laws should simply be changed to mine is mine, yours is yours, and the only common property up on the chopping block in the event of a divorce is joint property like if you open joint accounts or buy a house in both of your names.

The way I look at it now, I’m established in life and doing well for myself…if I marry a 30 year old not doing so well financially because I’m dumb enough to marry for “love,” 5 years later a divorce could end up costing me a couple hundred thousand dollars easily. Even if I married her and she quit her job to be a stay at home mom…its not like she gave up on some amazingly lucrative career or passed on college to raise kids…if she was dead end by 30 she’d probably have been dead end at 40, 50, and 60 as well. In the case of a divorce I shouldn’t owe her extra because she wanted to be a stay at home…that would have been a benefit of the marriage that should end with the marriage, and she can get her ass back to her s~~~ty job.
