If a man transfers assets to his children, can the court order them to be given to the wife in case of divorce?

As in all things; It Depends.

Any answers to your questions will depend on dozens of details like the jurisdiction in question, the type of trust created, the existence of any pre-nups, and so forth. If you need an answer regarding your specific situation, you need to consult a lawyer. Consulting a lawyer is the best and only advice you need.

That being said, a little over a year before he committed suicide, Robin Williams created a trust with his children as the sole beneficiaries and he did so with the express intent of keeping as much money as possible out of the hands of his two ex-wives and current wife. What you’re asking may be possible, but the details are going to depend on your particular situation.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

UNBELIEVABLE! God, the sentence about him renting a condo now hit me.

Say he set up a trust where the children are the sole beneficiaries. Then, whenever the man acquires an asset or saves up a certain amount of money he transfers it into that trust. Would the wife ever be able to get her hands on the assets in the trust?

As in many areas of law, the answer is “it depends.”

In the US at least, many lawyers that do this work are paid based on what they recover for the ex-wife. So if they recover $1,000, the attorneys charge $334, and she gets $666 (lol).

Any legal document can be challenged in court. Nothing is “bulletproof.” So for these lawyers who are “recovery based”, they can offer up their service to the ex-wife and say “Hey ex-wife, your piece-of-s~~~ ex-husband probably still has some cash. We might be able to get some. It won’t cost you anything, and if we recover anything, you’ll get 66% of it.”

If you’re a regular guy making $40,000/year, it’s not worth it for these lawyers. But if you’re rich/famous, like Robin Williams probably was, you’re talking about assets in the tens or even hundreds of millions.

So of course the ex-wife will sign off on it; she has nothing to lose.

The ex-husband’s trust/estate, whatever, now has to get an attorney. Minimum, this will cost $10,000 for even the simplest of cases. For wealthy people, with multiple exes, multiple children, multiple accounts in various countries – this will easily cost $500,000 in specialized lawyers fees, accountants, etc. Hell, it might be closer to $5,000,000 depending.

Point is, yeah, the ex-husband might beat the vultures. But at a cost of $1,000,000 in attorneys fees. Everyone knows this, so it might just be cheaper to throw the bitch a bone of $500,000 or whatever. It’s s~~~ty, but it’s cheaper than taking it to court for years. It’s also how the system is.

Moral of the story? Don’t f~~~ing get married. And if you’re going to f~~~ around, get a f~~~ing vasectomy.

Was not aware of this. I always speculated the divorce(s) played a larger role in his suicide. Nothing was reported on this by the main stream media.

I always wondered if he just wanted true love and they just wanted his cash and when he realized this he killed himself.

Sort of like getting killed by the red pill without realizing it.
