With me, it would be modesty self-reflection, hard-workingness, appreciation of the opposite sex (men),

And there we have it folks.

    TUNA

Now that could be also taken as second person.

The line gets vauge with wine and valium

With me, it would be modesty self-reflection, hard-workingness, appreciation of the opposite sex (men), non-manipulation of men, not regarding them as beings of mere utility or disposability.

Practically any western woman would assent to the value of these traits. So how did we end up with a civilization full of women that are immodest, narcissistic, lazy, unappreciative, manipulative, and exploitative? Is it because women can present themselves as something entirely other than what they actually are?

    Silver Fox wrote:

Why do you want to read about our positive experiences with women? (genuine question)

Believe it or not, I just want to. Well, you could also argue that this wish is egosistically driven, because I find myself in a negative situation right now, hence in need of some positivity? My interest is as genuine as your question in any case.

I believe your interest is real, but I still don’t know what to make of why you have this interest. Why would hearing about NAWALTs make you happy, unless you just really want to believe in NAWALT? Is that what this boils down to? If you really just want to believe in NAWALT then by all means go right ahead. No one here is stopping you and no one here is going to encourage you, either. And if you’re depressed, then I can guarantee you that you’re doing yourself no favors by relying on others to get yourself out of a slump. That creates a dependency in your mind and it will be difficult for you to rely on the stability of your own mental health unless everyone around you maintains the positive environment for you. (which, coincidentally, is something that men are really really tired of doing for lazy women)

I’m full of wine and valium.

    I can’t “deeply respect” that.

I’m mentally ill and I do not care about your lack of respect.

    But they are there.

    If you say so.

<quote>I haven’t been “bamboozled” into respecting a woman. She has proven worthy (my mother) as I have explained in my second post thoroughly. Secondly, it is important, in my opinion, to point these women out, because they can give hope for a better society in the future. They can be stylized as rolemodels, so to say, and through that, ease our dissatisfaction with the current society, that we avoid.</quote>

this wish is egosistically driven, because I find myself in a negative situation right now, hence in need of some positivity?

You may be male, but you talk like a chick. “I’m feeling depressed. Tell me something I really want to hear. My ego needs it”.

You misunderstand. My ego is dead. It doesn’t need anything. I just thought, why not some positivity for me, that could be positive for someone else maybe as well? The one recounting his experiences and the ones reading them, yes, including me. F~~~ my ego. You’ve got that wrong, I’m afraid.

I don’t even dignify that when a woman says it.
In fact, I would make sure she never asks me that again.

Nothing further from me. I’m off to grill a steak. Happy 4th of July everyone.

I’m not American, but anyway, happy 4th of July.

I’ll step in one last time. In all fairness, I read that too, but read it again . . .

Describing a woman who should be “deeply respected”, he said: “With me, it would be [she would demonstrate] modesty, self-reflection, hard-workingness, appreciation of the opposite sex (men), non-manipulation of men, not regarding them as beings of mere utility or disposability. “

He was trying to illustrate the qualities SHE would have.

But it’s also silly because NOT being manipulative and NOT thinking of a man as a disposable utility is hardly enough to be worthy of deep respect.

Does a man get “deeply respected” for NOT doing something?
Where’s my medal for NOT going to prison?

He should lay off the wine and valium.

Do it, be happy. I’m out.

You can leave on your own if you don’t want to be here. I’m just not remotely interested telling you whatever you need to hear, because you’re ego needs it, and you want some positivity.

We’re not interested in telling you 1 + 1 = 3 to make you “feel better”.

yes, its second person, but it seemed odd there was a need to point out who the opposite sex was.

So why does a Man going through things, need to hear us all say good things about women, to help with ” his” ego?

    Cause its a female.

Maybe @subtilitas can regale us with a few paragraphs about a man he “deeply respects”. Because I’m feeling a little depressed, and I need my ego stroked, and could really use some positivity.

Tell us about a man you deeply respect.

Don’t come with sarcasm. It doesn’t touch me in the least. But still, it’s quite amusing to read along. You guys completely destroyed the thread now, so I think we can all agree that it should be deleted.

Did we? I don’t remember getting any legit answers from you to my questions that I posed seriously.

I’m probably not as salty as some of the men here, but perhaps you could have ignored them if you didn’t like their responses. Maybe you could have spent some time thoughtfully answering the question, “Why do you want to hear us tell stories about positive women?” with a more in-depth reply than, “I just do.”

I mean, come on… you created this thread and you got a number of honest answers (e.g. Mother Theresa, Mom, etc). Not sure what else you are looking for. Again, are you just wanting to hear about NAWALTs or something?

Or did we just hold a mirror up to you.

Or you’re renitent to the idea that there are women, who may even deserve the respect of the great Keymaster? But let’s end that now. I’m tired of it.

I’d like to have it deleted completely. Not possible?

It wasn’t sarcasm, I REALLY want to hear about a man you deeply respect.

    Ready?

    Go.

My father, my brothers and I quite like French author Michel Houellebecq. He won the Prix Goncourt, but I don’t think they’ll give him the Nobel Prize for literature, which he deserves without a doubt.
