    btw in Latvia the age at which you can have a Pension is 63 years. The Pension age is raised by a 3 month every year.

    50% of Latvian males die before 63 years of age.
    That means that 50% of males will not receive the pension money. Women live on average 10+ years more then man, so they do get the money back.

    Just think about it, how much money our country doesn’t need to pay back to men who worked. Clearly, the government doesn’t want to pay people back so they keep raising the Pension age.

    The government has statisticians working hard to figure that out. As soon as too many men start collecting pension they jack up the age limit. They did that here for a while until a new government reversed the decision.

    Oh but here they have a plan to raise it to the age 65.
    + 3 months, every year. Pension age will be 65, in 2025.

    At one point they wanted to cancel pensions altogether, but reverted the decision. It would be a disaster. Population of Latvia goes down bit by bit all the time, no idea when it will start to grow, probably not until our government stops sucking EU/Nato money-syringe like crack addicts, until we have our own currency again and we will start trading with Russia again and produce and grow stuff at larger capacity.

    But hey, its politics/money so all I can do is hope and vote.

    No problem, I was on a rant when I started anyhow. So I guess many Latvians look at Brexit and think that they’d do the same if they could afford it. It’s like being in a marriage; stuck because you are unable to pay the double rent needed to separate.

    Exactly! And this is the article I posted here in one of the forums that really got me to thinking that the justice system is a farce. The judge originally even defended the man, but was forced to change his mind when he found out that the law went against his natural tendency to rationalise.

    Something is wrong. Here in Thailand I had a friend tell me that if I get a woman pregnant they will actually find me and force me to pay child support, even if I leave the country. Not sure how true this is.

    But the fact that you have to pay for someone else’s child is just ridiculous. I would not pay. I would rather leave the country, go to some peaceful pacific ocean island, pay everything in cash, and not leave any trace about my whereabouts. Just out of principle would never pay one cent in a situation like that. It’s just so f~~~ing unfair.

    Don’t give her your email address if you think she could litigate against you. Apparently some jurisdictions allow the party sueing to deliver documents by email (and it’s considered legal) in the case where you flee the country. If you flee you have to delete your email account if proceedings have been started in a jurisdiction that allows to deliver documents by email. They have to get a notice from the server saying the email did not reach its destination, otherwise you will have been deemed to have accepted the documents, and the bitch can continue with proceedings.

    Indeed it is a legal system. Thanks KM for emphasising that the ‘legal system’ has nothing to do with justice in so many cases. As I’ve read somewhere before, when it comes to divorce it a Just Us System (with the ‘Us’ being the privileged females, the same beings that are treated like they are helpless without a man’s bank account and paycheque).

    And I’m speaking about this because I have a friend who actually received legal documents by email (he fled the country). I asked him if he had given them any kind of reply, hoping that he would say no. He said he replied. I said, ‘not good’.

    The problem is really created if the legal system can pin you on a contempt of court charge. You see, then it goes from being a litigation to being a criminal offence. So lawyers that are looking for trouble seek to corner their opponent using a contempt of court charge.

    In the US, 32 states have laws that put men in jail for not paying child support.

    The guys in the other 18 states think they are safe until they find out how the game is orchestrated there.

    In the other states a guy cannot be put in jail for not paying child support.

    BUT:

    He has his driver’s license suspended. Then, at some point when still driving, he gets pulled over and arrested for driving on a suspended license and taken to jail.

    The bond/bail amount is always equal to the amount of back child support he owes.

    So the only way out is to pay it or stay in jail.
