One thing I learned, they say when there is a catastrophic situation people show the best of them.

Well I learned is not true, you see humans and some animals find security in numbers, when s~~~ gets ugly people help each other in other to make the community survive for their own benefit, “if they survive, Soo do I”, but when the most basic resource is scarce (food) not even catastrophic situation can over write our instinct.

At the end of the day is kill or die.

Wow! That reminds me of the Springfield gas explosion that severely damaged our old shop and blew the building across the street (where the gas leak originated) to bits found blocks away ! Several buildings were severely damaged with glass all blown out for blocks in every direction!

The explosion left a crater which size was about 40 meters and 8 meters deep. 500 people were injured and 4 were killed.

Texas City, 1947, was the mother of all explosions! That disaster changed the way we handle and process Ammonium Nitrate, until then it was believed to be a minimal explosive hazard in a fire, but that’s not true, especially if hydrocarbons (ruptured fuel tanks or barrels) are ruptured and released.
