There is a german word known as “schadenfreude” which translates roughly to “taking joy in another’s misfortune”.

This is one of those moments for a lot of us. If you’ve been following the news lately you’ll know Presidential Candidate, Joe Biden, is being accused of sexual assault from 27 years ago. Of course there is no evidence and apparently no record from the national archives of any incident.

That being said notice how the Dems and the biggest proponents of the #MeToo movement are nowhere to be found. No outrage, no inquisition, no backlash from the far left. Why is it there is not an senate inquiry like that of Kavanaugh? Oh that’s right weaponizing sexual assault is only funny when used on your enemies.

It just goes to show you false allegations are only useful as a weapon when used to get what you want. It was never about actual abuse but rather political, social or monetary gain. The #metoo women are disgusting; they all use their bodies to get what they wanted and then when it suits them ruin someone’s life. The one thing the left overlooked was how once they let the #Metoo stuff out of the bag they failed to realize it could come back and bite them as well. Republicans are now just as free to use false allegations as a nuclear option just like the Democrats.

The one bright spot of human decency from this actually comes from Trump sticking up for his rival. I thought it was kind of neat Trump actually put aside his political differences and stood up for Joe man to man.

Anyone who lives in a mansion (like celebrities and business owners) with a big backyard, a swimming pool, enough money to pay the bills for years, and a staff of servants to do chores, run errands, and bring home groceries/merchandise is doing very, VERY well during this crises. They can spend the whole day watching TV, playing video games, using the internet, reading books, or playing board games with their families to pass the time while everyone else is in a panic mode.

People who are retired and have some good pensions are probably doing well. And those that already get some kind of government check every month (Social Security, welfare, etc.) are probably okay–but, most likely, not living in luxury. They can stay home and order pizza. Kids must be happy because their schools are closed.

Some companies can still do business: restaurants that serve takeout meals; any factory that produces toilet paper, dust masks, disposable gloves, hand sanitizer, and cleaning products; companies that mail products to customers (Amazon, Alibaba); delivery services (UPS, FedEx), Netflix and satellite/cable TV networks, social media sites used for live-streaming, grocery stores, department stores, pharmaceutical companies that make drugs for COVID-19 treatment (chloroquine), food delivery services (Instacart, DoorDash, UberEats), etc.

Personally, I’m benefiting on a small scale. I have a job at supermarket, and I’m getting extra hours because people are stocking up for a quarantine. We haven’t had hand sanitizer on the shelves for a whole month. Even the baby wipes are sold out. It seems like people are serious about spring cleaning ’cause the disinfectant/germ-killing products get completely sold out. We finally have toilet paper for sale…hooray! My paychecks are looking good, and I even got a $1200 welfare check from President Trump and Congress. I usually spend money at movie theaters on my days off, but the theaters are closed. Sometimes I fill up the gas tank and take a scenic drive in the mountains. But lately I’ve been staying home ’cause I don’t feel like doing anything. I’m basically working long hours, and spending money on Amazon stuff if I can’t buy it at my local store. I’m not used to having a surplus of money in my bank account…it’s nice, though. I also have a surplus of food, bottled water, and toiletries in my apartment, so I don’t need to go shopping often. So if there was a complete government lockdown for a month, I think I’d be okay just chilling out here watching some YouTube videos and playing my guitar.

Most republican lead states are taking a patchwork approach of “be responsible and careful, but you can go about your day”.

I only have sympathy for the final group, and no sympathy for the rest.
Meanwhile, outside of major urban areas in MAGA states, most people still have their jobs and are making money. While some businesses are closed, those businesses that are open are making money.

Here in NY it has gotten pretty bad. FREEDOM?? Forget it! Our “Hero” Cuomo makes daily “updates” about the same time as Trump makes his updates. (So, YES,… it is POLITICAL).

Tens of millions of doses of Hydroxy (et al) have been distributed. Where are the reports on how this is working? NY had an early test, Detroit, and South Dakota (state wide) all mentioned. I’m willing to perhaps concede there is a potent strain of flu going around, but look at the stats, over 90% had existing health issues.

The media are conniving. On one hand they state a four year girl had dies from it(already had issues), and then next show a 99 year old man who supposedly had it and recovered from it.
This is to show the masse that ANYONE can get it, but you CAN beat it if you listen to the experts.

138,000 specimens have died in what, about a month. That’s approx. the same amount that die in a DAY around the world…..EVERYDAY!

Not saying the virus aint real, but as stated in many threads, the lockdown was the most idiotic thing we could do. Now we will see a decade of suicides, poverty and multiple waves of Corona still to come. We could have been done with this entire Virus in one year flat and never faced these economic horrors or the reality of thousands of young people about to off themselves. Its sad that I cant see my parents or brothers or their kids in person, I have to touch a screen and wait for my chance to talk.
