I'm a recently divorced father who fought tooth and nail for custody of his daughter from a mother who has known issues. The judge was urged by Child Protective Services, my daughter's guardian ad litem, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) to give me full custody due her mother's borderline personality disorder and documented prescription drug abuse. In spite of the overwhelming evidence, I was only awarded 50% custody. Men and women were congratulating me on my "victory" when it was VERY clear that the only victory for my daughter's well being would have been full custody to me.
