There’s a metric s~~~ ton of lip-syncing pop groups in Japan. Mostly teen and early 20s girls, they get chosen for their looks and needn’t have any musical talent at all because their voices are created in the studio. They’re all basically interchangeable. I know I could never keep track of the names while visiting there for work which caused my contacts’ children to either think I was funny or retarded.

It’s not just tweens and pre-teens which follow these groups, there’s a sizeable number of men too. Most are dismissed as part of the shut-in culture, but I didn’t see any indication that those types were even small majority of the screaming fans.

Anyway, with a couple hundred such groups all fighting for limited exposure, I’m not surprised one group “recorded” a song poking fun at the herbivore movement.

Even without the translation, I can tell just by the tone and some of the english words of just how funny this song is because it’s true. HAHAHAHAHA!

Now I’m going to listen to some circle bands like Eternal Melody which is something like this. The art work may be questionable, but the music is not if you into this kind of thing.

The subtitles are not what they’re actually singing, or at least not most of it. If you want to know what they are actually singing, just imagine the blandest pablum girlypop song you can think of.

I’d love to see the groups reaction to these “corrected” subtitles. With any luck they’ll think this is what westerners believe they are actually singing.
