There is no guarantee that either party will retain his/her assets or maintain a relationship with his/her children after the divorce.

I’ve never understood why would anyone want the government involved in their personal relationship. It does not make sense. What, my relationship is somehow more valid because I got a stamp of approval from load of slimy criminal megalomaniacs? Just a bizarre thing to believe in.
