Last year, concerned headteachers wrote to universities to warn them they are failing in their duty of care to students by ignoring the binge-drinking culture amongst young people studying away from home for the first time.

Emily Robinson says the blame cannot be laid solely with universities: ‘If we’re to change the student drinking culture, we need bars and retailers to act responsibly, and this means not trying to hook them in with irresponsible price promotions.

Females not only know what they are getting into, they welcome it. They want to have fun in their younger years (and then look back to their past and say that’s the old them).

One of the most enticing parts of this is that they get to leave it all behind. The college is usually in a different city where the reputation stays, and they can point the blame to men and the university. Basically, they are never at fault.

I agree. There are so many people that pull this s~~~ over so many different issues when the reality is unless you got some random unavoidable illness or were the victim of a totally random crime WHEN SOMETHING S~~~TY HAPPENS BECAUSE OF YOUR POOR CHOICES YOU ARE THE ONE AT FAULT!

It’s kind of a sad and pathetic realization that so many of them go to college/university and completely ruin themselves with the drinking, partying and slutting it up. That is if they haven’t already in high school or even earlier. To call this disgraceful would be an understatement.

I remember pulling all-nighters at my university student center after the libraries were closed. Looking through the glass wall at the girls stumbling their way home or waiting in cold for a cab in 4 inch skirts, I can safely attest those were refined A-grade sluts in the making since high school.

Not all arts students and women’s studies major really go to university. An extra year spent in high school would suffice with same job prospects.
