So I tried my hand at pickled onions, jar sealed up nicely. I based it on this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqI2HHDKCCc recipe, although I added garlic and red pepper flakes and shallots. I will have to follow up in about a week with the results.

Pickled eggs and sausage should be next. Yummy yummy. They go great with beer.

Kudos for using “ye olde” in your title. I tried to bring it back for years but alas…

Dammit MAN! I love me some pickles! I went to a fair with a friend and found a guy who made all kinds. Literally selling them out of barrels which was pretty cool. He had spicy jalapeno pickles that he let sit in their juices for months! The glorious spicy smell that came out when you opened the jar makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

And with that.. Im now hungry for lunch.

I made enough pickles to last all year! Way to go!

I still have 1 giant zucchini from harvest, You get allot out of cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers! I’ve only gotten better and better with each passing year! Next year I want to harvest, bread, fry, and freeze enough fried zucchini to last all year! I need to considerate more on food processing and freezing than farming and growing.

I like making my own food from scratch to table! No middle man that could vanish during this geopolitical war! It’s allot of work but well worth it if you’re always on top of it with the goal to produce more with less effort!

Betty Crocker is not the way to go! Doing your own food production, preparation, and freezing, is the way to go! We’ve become too complacent on other’s to put food on our tables!

Why plant a f~~~ing pine tree when you can plant a fruit tree? What passes for landscaping in the western world is a f~~~ing disgrace to the hungry!

I know a guy who does his own urban farming. You can check out his place on instagram. @gardenboxfarms. Its freaking amazing the stuff he plants and harvests. He even grows his own hops for brewing! He doesnt buy ANY produce from the grocery store.

For me, that would be the main reason to buy a house/land for myself. To farm it and be self sufficient. Thats one of my goals in the next decade of my life. (God willing…)

Unfortunately currently im still a renter and while i like my apartment, I have new goals on the horizon!
