I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s noticed this. I’ve been watching since Hogan’s first run in the WWE.
It all started going downhill when they started putting Stephanie McMahon in management roles. They first put her in charge of creative. Creative used to be Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson. That was it. Later it was McMahon, Vince Russo, and Ed Ferrara. For the past 15 years or so, they’ve been using a bunch of writers from Hollywood.

She’s behind the whole politically correct corporate thing. They’re more worried about impressing people in the entertainment industry than they are putting together a quality product.

On top of all this, they just don’t care about what the fans want. They’re shoving Roman Reigns down everybody’s throats. The guy is promoted as their #1 babyface but fans damn near boo him out of the building when he’s not with The Shield. They know they’re the only game in town (as far as big promotions go) so they’ll do what they want.

Also, from what I’ve read, the politics behind the scenes are pretty toxic. I don’t know how many of you have read the dirt sheets or any of the insider stuff but it seems like an awful work environment. Lots of petty backstabbing and other bulls~~~ and the office doesn’t want any one wrestler to become too “powerful”. That’s why you’ll only see a very small handful of wrestlers get pushed on a consistent basis.

I’m seriously debating whether to cancel my WWE network subscription. If enough people do that then perhaps that will send them a message.

Just stream the PPV’s like I do. In the age of the internet, it’s impossible to stop people from using illegal streams.

I used to watch the WWF when younger, and the Ultimate Warrior was a badass.

I have to ask, are they all hugging each other and raising arms after the “rumble” or before?

Whatever the case, it is narcissistic in its tendency. The “look at us. We are so awesome” bs, once again.

I had a friend that played rugby in college, and did small venue wrestling for extra coin. He told me that the wrestling was much more brutal than the rugby.

Well the actual Royal Rumble PPV doesn’t happen until the 24th of January I think, but what makes this segment even more retarded is they were all brawling in the ring then Stephanie McMahon comes out (a proud feminist I’ll like to add), announces the match then all of a sudden everyone stops fighting then starts crying and hugging, completely cringe to the max…not only that but they just completely killed “kayfabe”, that that it wasn’t already dead anyway.

haven’t gone through the thread yet but was going to post exactly this

f~~~ing dumb on so many levels just to appease the feminist f~~~s. I am done with WWE now – every year I get a couple of tickets to the London RAW show and we make a night of it (nice steak meal and then some wrestling) but this is the first year I haven’t got tickets because of the crap they shovel up

Roman Reigns was enough to turn me away from the product but this SJW s~~~ has finished me off for good. F~~~ the WWE

    Puke!

Those girls in the ring are all 6s and 7s at best.

When I was into wrestling we had Missy Hyatt, Sunny, Sable, Stacey Keibler, Kimberly Paige, Torrie Wilson, Debra and Trish Stratus. They were all 9s, 10s and 11s. Truly hot f~~~ing women.

None of those girls in the ring can hold a candle to any of them.

THIS is the women’s division now – all fugly

So I guess I wasn’t just tripping, and the thing is, I enjoyed what the women do in NXT, they just let them go out there and wrestle (just watch Bayley vs Sasha, their NXT matches) but on RAW and Smackdown it’s all this preachy women empowerment s~~~, no one watches wrestling to hear or see any of that s~~~.

You know what else is funny? It was a MAN (Triple H) and his brand (NXT) that paved the way for all of these women to get the spotlight they have in the first place.

I like Women’s wrestling, NXT does it right without being all preachy about it, but of course I’m not surprised a man that’s been in the business can portray women better than his feminist f~~~ of a wife can, f~~~ Stephanie McMahon, she’s single handily ruining the entire product.

    > @venom – Just stream the PPV’s like I do. In the age of the internet, it’s impossible to stop people from using illegal streams.

I end up skipping a lot of the PPVs anyway. Most of the stuff I watch on the network is old stuff (PPVs, SNME, etc). Of course a lot of that stuff (and more!) can be found on Youtube. Plus I have plenty of tapes and DVDs from the past. Perhaps it is time to cancel. I would hate to miss WrestleMania for the first time in many many years but everyone knows what’s going to happen anyway (Roman Reigns over Brock Lesnar for the championship).

And if her work behind the scenes isn’t bad enough, her on-camera work is cringe inducing.

BTW notice the segments that she shares with the other women? She wears high heels so she can tower over them and makes sure everyone knows that she has power over them. Here is an excerpt from Wade Keller’s Raw review:

(Keller’s Analysis: That’s just Stephanie being Stephanie, so what more can be said? She should look at that script and tell the writer, “This makes me seem like a totally insecure person who needs to tower over all of these women and have them seem subservient to me and awe-struck by my presence. Is this supposed to flatter me? How about you write good segments and don’t treat me like some egomaniac?” Instead, she seems all in on these things. What struck me more was the character-break from Paige, who was touched by Stephanie’s announcement and even participated win the Yes! chant and hugged Deville at the end like she had just received some college acceptance letter she had been waiting for. Everyone involved in Stephanie segments end up damaged, and this was no exception. They all seemed like school children when the principle arrived with candy. Ugh.)

I was listening to sports talk radio earlier and the host said something about the WNBA not being able to survive without the NBA propping it up. That got me to thinking about this topic again.

If all of the men in the WWE were to suddenly quit, does anyone think that the female wrestlers could carry the company? Something tells me no.
