Does anyone here still play World of Warcraft? Have you ever had a good guild experience EVER? Talk about a microcosm of beta-male losers trying to appease the few women in the guild who absolutely love the attention. Actually had a couple lesbians in the last guild I was in who were always at odds with the GM who was some beta-male douche with some strange nerd superiority complex. One of them was constantly sexually harassing the GM”s wife, though it wasn’t considered that because it was coming from a woman. They didn’t like being second fiddle and were always arguing over team-speak lines, throwing snidely sarcastic barbs at each other whenever someone got butt-hurt. If anyone said anything mildly critical of lesbianism or gays in general it was basically a death sentence with zero tolerance. The couple that were best buddies with the GM and his wife were just as bad. Both men were pussy-whipped and their shrews always had to come on raids and were always cracking jokes against men and going on and on about how girls rule and all this. It was an absolute nightmare. I eventually left because the GM was only interested in his objectives and anything anyone else wanted to do was irrelevant. I created my own guild before leaving because MOP was just complete dog s~~~ (or is that panda s~~~?).

Dealing with immature beta-males with major insecurity issues who think MMORPG’s are their own personal playground where they can act like dickbags is bad enough, then you throw women into the mix and it’s either run solo content or call it a day. Warlords of Draenor looks alright but I don’t see the point if I can’t do any of the multiplayer content without running into mouth breathing bottom feeders. I’m old school and my first console was the NES when it was brand new. You actually had to have people in the same room to play multiplayer. There were no anonymous pussy boys s~~~ talking you over the internet. If you got your ass beat you took your medicine and were put in your place. Arcades were off limits to women for the most part because it hadn’t become trendy for them to be “gamers”, which 99% of them aren’t at this point in time.

I say keep women out of gaming. I’m not gaming with the hopes of finding some “hot” chick that likes to game (somehow this is supposed to be an ideal woman according to nerds). I’m there to play the game and relax, it isn’t a social environment where picking up chicks is even considered. Gamers got looked down on since day one and now through some bizarre alchemical mutation the whole culture has been perverted. I’m not interested in playing as a “strong female lead” like Lara Croft or what have you. I don’t relate, I don’t consider it any kind of progress towards anything worthwhile, just a way for corporations to make more money by expanding their consumer base. There is no altruism there, it’s just the bottom line and these companies aren’t run by dummies.

Honestly mate, you’re going to find folks like that in ALL mmorpgs. Believe me. I’ve been playing MMOs for 10 years now, moving from one to another as the time goes.
The trick? Find the older players. When I first started playing Conquer Online, I found myself in a guild with a group of friends who really WERE as you described, drooling and slobbering over any girl who dared play on our server. Even then I was pretty disgusted with it and shifted guilds to another more laid-back group where every single member was over the age of 30. Unusual to find older folks like that playing online games but I was glad for it since there was no ‘drama’ tolerated either.
Ever since then, I’d learned my lesson and found guilds that had an older play-style. Not all of them were as old but the attitudes were the same. Playing WoW, The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2 etc. I’ve always had far more FUN with the older crowd, not to mention that when there ARE issues that needed dealing with, it was done in a far more mature manner and I learned alot from them.
Not only that but they make far better long-term friends also. I still keep in touch with most of them, even after its been 5 years or more since we played the same game.

Also quite frankly EXPECT to see more ‘strong female leads’ and feminised characters in games. I’ll gladly point out that in many games you at least have the option to choose gender thus negating being forced to play a female lead. Simply put, its becoming more socially acceptable for girls to play video games and the market is opening up to that in a slow and careful manner in order to broaden the consumer base. Playing a game designed for females, or from a company proven to be spineless in their programming is entirely up to you. I personally stick to two or three different studios for my single-player games and quite casually play League of Legends where the folks I play with are of a similar mature and laid-back attitude.

I have played WOW on and off since 2008 and never had that problem although I didn’t didn’t have a serious guild. I mostly did solo content or qued up for dungeons. Other MMO’s like The Old Republic, DC Universe, and Guild Wars 2 I never got too much into so I never noticed any problems on those. However I was very big into Final Fantasy XI back in the day and right now into Final Fantasy XIV. I never had a problem with beta males or crazy feminists. The males in my guild were cool and the women were also just as cool. Sure you run into some douche bags at times, but I don’t recall running into beta males, just some assholes. Did you ever try switching servers?

Unfortunately you have to pay to switch servers. Fortunately I mainly play solo and just do LFR’s and queue for dungeons. There’s one guy that plays that was in one of my former guilds that is big into PvP so I’ll tag along once and awhile and shoot the s~~~ on vent.

The guilds I joined were ones that advertised as being those that run old content for achievements, mounts, transmog gear, etc. The problem was there were so many scrubs that wanted to join the raids that had no idea how to execute the proper mechanics to beat bosses that absolutely had to have the mechanics followed correctly and ended up causing us to wipe on stuff that should have been a cakewalk.

I think they are nerfing the guilds somewhat this expansion when it comes to perks so my characters will all be MGTOW’s, lol.

    I don’t play WOW, but I do play GW2.

If any of you guys play and want to start a MGTOW guild, hit me up. I started a guild and have been building perks over the last few weeks, but have focused on leveling my alts instead of recruiting. So it’s wide-open right now.

I actually wouldn’t mind doing all my recruiting on here, so we can keep the guild as a reserved space for MGTOWs and keep the astronauts and batteries out.

I don’t think i’ve ever found as good a guild in my 16 years of MMO experience as the one i did in RIFT, I managed to find one that was comprised of 70-80% Veterans like myself, and a bunch of Cynical assholes who could deal with people’s s~~~. We played drinking games during raid times until the entire raid(including me as MT, and one of my very good female friends{who i met IN the guild} who was {naturally} a healer) were completely blackout drunk. It functioned so well because of the amount of apathy everyone in the guild had towards being made fun of, laughed at, having s~~~ talked to them ect. The women in there would get called sluts, whores ect. and they would fire it back at you just as quick. Everyone was essentially just A PLAYER to everyone in the guild.

With that being said, every other guild i’ve EVER been in from EQ1/DAOC to now i definitely see the massive amounts of white knighting beta-f~~~s grovelling for appreciation from some female that lives on the other side of the country.

Generally speaking though, most of the women i’ve met in the semi-hardcore to hardcore raiding scene are actually just there to play, and more guilds in the serious world tend to actually recruit members off of merit, how good they are at DPS/Heals/Tank/Support ect. DKP/SK or anything of that nature generally tends to even out the loot distro for everyone
