I think the biggest reason is you really have no clue what is going on. It may be some type of domestic dispute or two criminals fighting over something. They may both turn on you if you try to intervene.

I have a handgun carry permit and the training that goes with it tells you to be sure what the situation is if you decide to get involved. My involvement would be limited to calling 911.
