How in the F is Penny even able to afford an apartment by herself across the hallway from Sheldon and Leonard who are raking in big bucks??? The show never made sense to me on any level. While I do not care for the later seasons, the original concept of the Big Bang Theory series was put together well and was able to maintain the quality to season five.

To be fair, that show hinted those apartments were being rented cheap because they were a few floors up and the elevator in the building was broke. That is how the Leonard and Sheldon could afford their gaming and other hobbies. Sheldon was even shown with having money saved, even with these expenses.

As for the money issue. Sheldon is an asshole whom treats people like like dirt. If he was a little more interested in sex he would be “chad”. The scary part is the number of women whom are Sheldon fans.

Leonard for all his nerd traits seem to have the personality and skills that he could be successful in almost any field he tried.

Howard is an engineer whom reached a point he worked for NASA. If it was not for his parental issues he would be a more well rounded person.

Rajesh was born into wealth. He family is rich, though he does not tell people this and he is polite. If women had known this the gold diggers would have been after him. While he wants pussy, he does not want gold diggers.

At one point nerds had none of these, so women had contempt for them. Then along came the IT revolution.

Now some nerds have considerable money and status and the genes that make them nerds are even themselves more valued. Successful nerds have a lot of pulling power. Not as much as a wealthy, high status handsome sportsman chad but honestly how many of those are there? Handsome athletes are rarely also wealthy and of high social status.
