I think false rape claims has to be lowest of the low.

A message needs to be sent loud and clear, that justice system is not a tool for the oppression and abuse of others. False claims of violent crimes should be treated as a felony considering there seriousness. People who use the justice system this way should have to face the possibility of life in prison.

We throw rapists away for life and so we should, the same message should be sent to false accusers. People who commit acts of abuse on this level have no right to freedom.

I cannot qualify a response for legal areas other than my own, but my state, too, simply treats a deliberate false allegation as nothing more than a misdemeanor for jail time is seldom served -if- they even choose to prosecute it.
“Victim” is a sacrosanct status that is protected and venerated by society. Gone are the days when one takes personal responsibility for the hand one played in one’s own fate.

Last time i checked filing a false police report against someone would have me thrown in prison. Of course to women they are viewed as innocent and even if the claim is disproven the suspect is still seen as guilty by the public.
