Ever notice women comics aren’t nearly as funny as male comics. Not sure if it’s there timing or if it’s just trying to listen to a spoiled brat drone on and on about uninteresting s~~~ like her love life and her view on men. I remember way back Helen (the chick with her own talk show) had a comedy tour and she did a pantomime of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly it lasted about 20 minutes and made me uncomfortable….what the f~~~ is funny about that and who approved it to be in a Comedy show?

Modern female comics seem to think that talking about sex as if they were also a guy (via some type of pseudo-vulgar mimicry) is somehow enough to be taken seriously. Talking about the standup crowd. Then you have the Tina Fey, Amy Poehler crowd who the blue pill manginas seem to think are insanely talented.

A few female comics or comedic actors have their moments but as far as having a long standing tradition of being funny, that just doesn’t exist. I mean Joan Rivers pretty much s~~~s all over them and she was washed up years before she finally bought the farm.

The Children of Doom... Doom's Children. They told my lord the way to the Mountain of Power. They told him to throw down his sword and return to the Earth... Ha! Time enough for the Earth in the grave.

    My take on it:

The reason Male comics are better is because most jokes are a slight exaggeration of the world as it is(or no exaggeration at all). Since most women dont have a ‘real’ outlook on the world their exaggerations dont connect with people, A man’s view does.

There is a big difference in delivery too. Most Male comics sound like they are having a rant or telling a story they could tell to their friends, most Female comics sound like they are ‘Trying’ to be funny.

And last but not least most women dont have to be funny, they have a vagina and t~~~. A lot of men develop a sense of humor as a way of attracting people, a lot of women dont need that.

Any that I’ve found funny quickly got stale. Lisa Lampanelli, Amy Schumer…they just don’t make me laugh.

Right on, I never looked at it from that angle before!

I think there’s two main reasons why there aren’t that many good women comedians:

    1. Stand up is quite an aggressive, confrontational art form. Women are more into groupthink and consensus, not standing up and giving your views on life at the risk of being heckled, boo’d etc.

    2. A lot of women comedians base their whole act on the fact that they are female. It’s ‘agenda’ comedy, and as unfunny as a comedian basing all his jokes on being black, being short, being fat, whatever.

That said, I do think there are some good female comics, though not many. Off the top of my head I’d say the late Joan Rivers, the late Joyce Grenfell, Victoria Wood, Julie Walters, Ronni Ancona, Sharon Horgan, Julia Davis (these are all British or Irish, I don’t know many US female comics).

I agree with Lukeylala and In Which We Serve. I’d also add that women tend to have to build elaborate set-ups for their material to work. The best comedy is just the s~~~ that happens in your day-to-day that is seen from your perspective. Hell, you could have a guy in the audience who could very well be someone the comedian is complaining about from a different day and place and neither may know.

And I think there is something to the fact that there’s a LOT of rejection, live and immediate, from the audience. Most the female comedians I’ve seen have kind of a desperation for acceptance about them that’s a major turn-off. The funniest, I think, are the ones who don’t try so damn hard.

For me personally, I’ve never witnessed a female comedian who didn’t talk about her sex life and men in a derogatory manner.

The only women I’ve ever seen as “funny” are those that make goofy faces and act sweet/cheerful. This is generally because if they’re distorting their face to be funny, they usually don’t take themselves too seriously.

Not taking yourself TOO seriously is a good trait in men and women. However in women, it’s the only behavior displayed that will actually make me smile, not AT them but with them.

Most of the time I watch female comedians and about 10 seconds in I reverse the sexes.. then I realize if that were a guy saying those things about women, his car would be keyed to s~~~ before he got done with the routine.

This just falls back on the, men should be men and just take it, suck it up.

Women can play victims and get offended easily and are justified when everyone rushes to their side.

Usually a funny comic is some insight into the workings of the world, on a large scale that is “off”. The artist exploits this for comedic value.

Women usually have a hard time with “big picture” which is why their jokes are usually bad… and they ramble on about their periods and man bashing.

It’s whatever. I like Chris Rock, George Carlin and Eddy Izzard personally.

Amy Schumer is a hack. A lot of male comics kiss her ass because she has some pull in the industry as far as developing TV shows. It’s pathetic. Even Nick Dipaolo seems to suck up to her.

The funny thing about comedy (see what I did there?) is that it’s success is self-evident: If you’re really funny, you’ll be really successful. It’s pathetic to see so many female comics complain about how they’re being discriminated against for being female. It must take a ridiculous amount of ego not to be able to admit you’re just not that funny and demand special treatment.

    good point kingofthesea…
I’m wondering how long it will take before some female comics start bitching that they only get 73% of the laughs that male comics get, and demanding equal laughs from their audience. (Ironically, I probably would laugh at that s~~~).

As in business, construction, mining, petrochemical, and in the Olympics, screaming that you are equal just doesn’t make it so…

Look, it's not my fault that tornado dropped a house on your sister. Now get back on your broom and get your ass out of here... and take your monkeys with you

73%? That’s a little generous, don’t you think? Haha. Either we need to drop their pay even lower or they need to get funnier.

Why would a slave master make jokes for the slaves entertainment? That is the bind that female comedians have. They cannot entertain as they are feminists first and there is nothing funny about a hate movement.

Men do it to make a living. Women do it to be attention whores, which doesn’t leave much for the audience’s entertainment.

Besides, women are genetically incapable of understanding humor. Ever try to joke with one?

Women aren’t funny because they are not prepared to lower themselves for a joke. Men WILL.

Women are much too arrogant for that, especially current female comics like Kathy Lee Griffin & Tina Faye etc. They make a career of talking s~~~ about other people. For a woman, her entire M.O. is to maintain an air of desirability and attractiveness – at least on some level. They are terrified of making themselves look utter foolish.

They are nowhere NEAR the great legends of comedy the same way men are. A man will go up on stage and make fun of HIMSELF. He is prepared to lower himself to barrel-scraping lows for a laugh. A woman flips her hair, thinks she’s fabulous, and cuts into some famous bitch for being fat. That’s her “humor”… but you’ll almost never see her cut into herself. She reaches for sarcasm and snide comments before she is prepared to make herself look ridiculous.

You know who didn’t? Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett… or even Joan Rivers – back in the 80s.
(She stopped being funny when she started doing the Oscars red-carpet digs.)

They were TRULY “funny”, because they were ready to make themselves look as unattractive, stupid and silly as possible.

You will see notice the humorlessness in women in your daily life too.
It’s steeped in the current culture and almost ALL women aren’t even aware of it.

They have what I like to call “reverse grandiosity”. They will cut themselves down to try and appear “modest”, but they are SO OFF THE CHART ARROGANT, if you agree with her, she will get furious.

    EXAMPLE:

“OMG I feel totally fat today!!”.

    “Well I wasn’t going to say anything…..”.

She went for funny, and almost pulled it off, but when you hit the ball back (agree and amplify) she is not impressed and won’t even laugh along or congratulate you for a good comeback. They aren’t even creative enough to get a good rally going….

    •••

That’s just one random girl “trying to be witty”. She can’t even write her own comeback and has to go online to ask for one. If you’re a guy, and you say something more quick witted than she, prepare for her to start pouting. Can’t even tell you how many women are like that. It’s practically a universal guarantee.

Take for example a comment like “nice t~~~”. Even though it’s a compliment, women will react like you just insulted her and almost 100% of them won’t even know the first thing about amplifying it and taking it further or turning it into a light and fun exchange. She could even “win” right there by saying “They’re REAL and they’re FABULOUS”. I have never seen a woman know what to do with that. They will always react negatively and get “offended”. What a buzzkill.

Once I was at a bar, (will never forget it) and there was this chick who looked like she spent all afternoon getting ready. Her t~~~ were pushed right up to the moon, and it was clear she WANTED them to be noticed. A guy standing with me looks right at her boobs and made no apology when he said “GREAT t~~~”.

“Gross. Guys are such pigs. Can’t you jerks say ANYTHING else – like good evening???”.

    “oh sorry. Nice BREASTS”.

We all laughed our heads off and she stormed off exactly like the sore loser you would expect. She couldn’t even bring herself to laugh. Not only are women not “funny”. They are not even FUN anymore.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

HR I have tried many times to joke with them…Your correct they definitely cannot laugh at themselves, no matter how funny their logic is…I find great humor just in these two words being next to each other…Female logic…

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. This so as to learn as much from misunderstanding as from understanding. Taking pleasure in worthy opponents and making language fluid and flowing like a river yet pointed and precise as a dagger. Contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful linguistic dance, A verbal martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.
