Only practiced combat but ive done it plenty. I have had women in my groups (Sweden). As a squadleader it was problematic becuase in the middle of combat when i was giving orders i had to remeber through the adrenalin that the females was not fit to carry wounded and throw grenades/smoke etc.

Very problematic, fortunate that these girls where on the way to officer school and desk jobs so this was just a step for them. They will never serve on the ground abroad.

    Keep clam i'm dyslexic.

Saw this as well. But really…was anyone (who is currently in their right mind) surprised? It’s like the Time magazine article a couple years that proclaimed men and women were different…like this was some sort of new discovery. Sometimes, I wonder if ancient civilizations had it (mostly) right and all we’re doing in the modern age is discovering why.

    @kingofthesea,
The ancient civilizations survived for the centuries that they did because they had male-female relations figured out. Yes indeed, they had it right.
But (I suspect) you already know this, as do (I suspect) the rest of us.

For two examples, both the ancient Greeks and the ancient Romans thought that infatuation was a sickness. In other words what Hollywood calls “love” and puts in center stage is exactly what the Greeks and Romans warned their sons against. That’s one. Two is: both cultures thought women’s baser urges had to be severely curtailed: i.e., ditching hubby for a bad boy.

Yeah, I remember reading about that. Aristotle’s views on women, among other things, made him a favorite of mine. Turd Flinging Monkey made a great video about the parallels of how Roman culture fell apart due to their gynocentricism (sp?) and how it relates to our future. Worth a watch if you have the time, but it is indeed fascinating stuff. Again, it just seems to me like science is trying to explain why we were doing what we did hundreds of years ago without needing an explanation.

“We” did it because no one has heard of the cultures that did not! They were so short lived that they are mere footnotes, and they are lucky to get footnote status.

Well, if the US keeps on the way it’s been going, we’re going to end up that way, unfortunately.

On the topic, though: I was going onto the comments on the article on MSN.com, fully expecting some feminist justification. Was not disappointed. Love this reply, though. One man, we’ll call him “A”, states:

I don’t worry about the women getting killed as much I worry about them getting several men killed trying to help them.

In response, a woman, “C”, bitches:

“A, could it just be that the men have an issue because they keep insisting on “helping them”. If women can’t keep up, they can’t keep up. But they damn well deserve the chance to try. Most women won’t make the grade, physically (and they absolutely should be held to the same standard) but the few who can should be allowed to serve. After that….well, gentlemen…time for you to adapt, improvise and overcome. Right?

God, you can’t BUY people this stupid and contradictory.

I think the best role for women in combat is staying in the kitchen and making the guys samiches!

This is HILARIOUS to me. In youth group we always had boy/girl activities, but I wasn’t with that bulls~~~. I ALWAYS outpaced the boy/girl pairs.

They made me stop that, but I’d just get a male partner, and the SAME THING occurred. I knew they’d impede that as well, so I stopped participating when they “made” me have a girl partner. As a general rule, I don’t choose a female for jack s~~~. lol.

    Nice!!

I think I have this worked out.
Train them as deep cover, long term agents. Offer them long term birth control.
We then send them behind enemy lines to marry their men, then divorce them while they are deployed.
Morale plummets, suicides go through the roof, it would be a walk over.
Then when the war is over, disavow them.

    Soldier-Medic, you tittyf~~~ing badass motherf~~~er!

That is so crazy that it will ACTUALLY work, you know?

Women would be fine as S.F.A (Special F~~~able Agents). Not only morale would plummet, or suicide rates would go through the roof, but they will be so occupied by their talk that they will have NO TIME AT ALL to be in combat…

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    PERFECT war strategy!

    Uh. No.

As a former 0331, I can tell you this is a bad ideal. They simply lack the physical strength to do the job.

Not to mention, the recent picture from Ranger school where the dumb bitch is feeding a SAW, 60 or 230 Bravo with the rounds upside down and backwards. F~~~ing idiot doesn’t even know the pointy end goes toward the enemy.

Brass to the grass, links to the sky.

I like to visit the Duffel Blog http://www.duffelblog.com/ for its humor. They have a few stories about women soldiers. The women rangers were not spared.

I say hell yeah put them on the front lines and let them go up against a someone that doesn’t give a s~~~ if they are only a womin ,in fact would probably take pleasure in killing a western c~~~. I bet they would rely on their male counterparts to handle the situation and then brag about how they kicked their ass later.
