Actually, if women are like anything in a casino it would be a slot machine. Whether you win or not by putting anything into the slot is completely based on timing. If you are the “lucky” won who fills the slot at the right time, you are a “winner”.

But if you play consistently, you will always lose. There is software written into the payouts on slot machines that make you think you’re about to win. So it keeps you hooked. Same as the software in a woman’s brain. But consistently filling the same slot is the most sure fired way to lose half your s~~~. Or all of it if you are the “winner”.

Since we can’t see the future, every choice we make is a gamble. All we have to go on is past experience (including learning from the experience of others).

Every relationship is a risk, but some are clearly riskier than others. A friend doesn’t have the same opportunities, nor the same incentives, that a wife does. A wife can leave you and take all your money with the law on her side, whereas a friend would have to break the law (not to mention have some way of getting access to your money).

So, a friend is automatically more trustworthy than a wife, if for no reason other than his reduced means, motive, and opportunity to ruin you.

Add the current state of cultural norms regarding male/female relationships, and marriage looks like a wildly stupid risk for men to take.

It is wise to fear dangerous commitments.
