Apparently they’re so entitled they feel they can demand what race of doctor they want to see. Last I checked, if you’re at a clinic unless it’s your own family doctor that’s there they just give you what’s available. If it was really that bad then go see your own doctor or do what they said and go to a hospital. I mean, she’ll still be waiting a while no matter where she goes but either put up or shut up ya dumb broad. At least they’re kinda giving her crap for being blatantly racist, not that that’s saying much. Why should she honestly care what race the doctor that’s seeing her kid is? If he can do the job, why do you care, lady? And this was here in Canada too so it’s not like she’s a paying customer.

I had to shut it off after a couple of minutes. I was cringing so badly. That poor kid of hers. I still have trouble believing someone can be like that and I am a total asshole and then some. Wow.
Everyday above ground is a good one. Everyday above ground while single...better still.
Anonymous3I disagree with you.
For something as personal as medical care, you have every right to select the race, gender, age and experience level of your doctor.
Too many men don’t understand this, and get bullied into accepting young women doctors who are completely inept and will cause them more harm. These doctors tend to also argue and act petty.
I generally select white male or indian male doctors, with decent experience. And if they are assholes, I don’t want them anywhere near me. Truth be told, I avoid doctors like the plague, precisely because it is often difficult to get a preference, and you’re stuck with crap they foist on you. Unless you’re wealthy.
Every wealthy person seems to only use white, jewish or Indian male professionals—whether for medicine, law, accounting or anything else. It’s the rest of us that keep getting stuck with women.
If you are paying for your healthcare, or are on a plan that allows you to chose your Dr, then I 100% agree with Phoenix. I wouldn’t base my decision on race though. I would consider gender, but only to a certain capacity. There are plenty of incompetent white male Drs, while I have also gotten good care from non-white women.
Much of the time, I don’t really care because I’m not going for a diagnosis. I only want the Doc to prescribe the medicines I already know that I need.
But on topic, US discrimination laws state that you cannot discriminate and who you employ and what customers you serve. It does not mean that you cannot discriminate and your choice of service provider.
However, if you aren’t paying for the service provided to you by the government, I think the government has every right to deny any request for a different government employee. I’d say that another good reason not to rely on government services.
Ok. Then do it.
I’d prefer to see a male doctor whenever I get my check up.
Race be damned! Is she “racist” or just ignorant?
Is she justified due to bad experiences with other doctors?
Perhaps it is language barriers.I have had doctors/specialist of every gender, sexuality, and ethnicity. The ones that provided the worst care had 1 thing in common, the inability to communicate in English and were p~~~ poor doctors to begin with.
Mind you, I could have just been a s~~~ty patient to begin with because I too avoid them like the plague. There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it

Perhaps it is language barriers.Grumpy, viewed through the lens of today’s media:
Yes, she is racist. Yes, she is ignorant. Yes, she could have had a bad experience with a black doctor.
Are her views and sense of perceived entitlement any news? No.Should you have the ability to choose your health care provider? Absolutely. Will today’s medical industry allow this to happen in an open clinic? Absolutely not.
Every wealthy person seems to only use white, jewish or Indian male professionals
When it comes to basic core services, money talks and those without have to walk. Too many people demanding services that they don’t really need, but “deserve” to have.

This was in CANADA, where people don’t pay for healthcare. Well, we do but it’s through taxes. I doubt this lady pays any or if nothing else the bare minimum. If what Grumpy says is true and she’s had bad experiences with doctors of different races/ethnicities then why doesn’t she say so? Lord knows if I were in her shoes I would calmly and quietly tell the receptionist that I would require a white doctor because ______________________. Then again logic and rationality are foreign to women but still. If I were told that none were available I would shut up and deal with it but next time be sure not to go to the same clinic the next time.

why doesn’t she say so?
Point two, she’s ignorant of both the system and how to interact with society.

The irony for me is that she is in a “walk in” clinic. That means you get what ever doctor is available. Period
The same goes for ALL emergency services as well.
If one has a preference in gender/ethnicity for a family Doctor, one first applies then secures the services of said doctor and then is selected by said Doctor as a patient.
Based on the availability of said Physician, His/Her/It’s schedule dictates the availability of services afforded to the client.
Pretty simple really, and contrary to popular belief, in Canada, private medical professionals can and do regularly decline new patients due to a variety of reasons.A point in order is that this particular incident happened in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) AKA all of south eastern Ontario. Good luck finding a private practitioner there.
If I were told that none were available I would shut up and deal with it but next time be sure not to go to the same clinic the next time.
Problem solved.

You entire post is spot on Grumpy.

In the ER they are called Residents and in Private Practice they are called Physician Assistant’s or Family Nurse Practitioner’s.

AKA all of south eastern Ontario.
BAH.
I mean south western Ontario.
To me all of southern Ontario is east. There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it
Anonymous11People wonder why I will not date anymore.
And women would say, dont judge her.
Nope, we’re judging.
Shit Tested, Cunt Approved.
For someone so concerned about health and healthcare, you’d think she’d put down the fork.
Weighs 300 pounds…complains her family’s health needs are not being met. Yeah, makes sense.
The answer, is no.
