When I was in college, tickets to the men’s home basketball games cost money; the women’s games were free and didn’t even require tickets — you could just walk in. That should serve as in indicator of the relative quality of the two. I used to go to those games with a couple of friends for some free entertainment (another friend was a sports photographer for the city’s newspaper, so running into him at some games was a bonus).

Men will buy a pair of shoes that LeBron wears because they know he takes it seriously and wears a shoe that he believes in. Reebok could offer him double what NIKE pays him, but if they hurt his feet and make it harder for him to win he’s not going to do it. So there’s at least some value to the endorsement.

Women don’t buy shoes because some WNBA chick wears them. They buy cosmetics because Kendall Jenner wears it. Jenner is a paid whore, and she wouldn’t ruin her face with just any fake-up. Same as LeBron with his shoes. Neither want to ruin their money maker.

I don’t even care. We have a franchise in my city. My lesbian “friend” posts about them and the inequity of men’s and women’s sports, the whole time ignoring the fact that the closest (not best in town) High School boys would destroy them.

Other reasons not to care. I don’t support the NBA team or even care about American Sports at all anymore. I watch English Soccer, but more as a pass time than a passion.

Tall, goofy lesbians playing a game badly isn’t even worth a mental note. I hope the NBA goes under trying to keep this S~~~show afloat.

Wnba has been around something like 22-25 years, losing more than 10 million a year means a quarter BILLION dollars has been lost on having the wnba exist.

And the women want better pay. For that.

They just aren’t good enough. In the NBA you got dudes that can palm a ball and throw a dunk down. Hardly any of them in the WNBA could do that. It would be no different if they had a profession baseball league for women…why would I want to watch it when I could watch guys that pitch faster and can hit the ball further?

I enjoy watching women in the UFC. Honestly some of the women’s fights are better than the men’s fights because some of the bigger guys are winded in the first round. Women are capable of making each other bleed and knocking each other out…so that works for me. Its just the sports where there is no way to compensate for difference in size and athletic ability that I have no interest in watching women at all(unless they are scantily clad like beach volleyball).

If I showed up with 5 NBA players to a local rec league, they would absolutely destroy everyone there. If I showed up with 5 WNBA players I’d fully expect there to be some guys who come to play for a few hours after working their 9-5 that would beat WNBA players.

The main problem is how forced it is. There was no organic development of the WNBA. All over the country you can find men playing pick-up games with city leagues, church leagues, clubs, city parks etc. You might find a few talented women playing here and there in a mixed league, but how often would you find women organizing a game unless it was for a school team? They just don’t do that. There is no natural interest except sticking it to the man.

I actually enjoy some women’s sports. I use to watch tennis before all the screaming started and enjoyed it as much as the men sometimes. I can watch volleyball (indoor), swimming, cycling and fast pitch softball, but I just don’t think there is enough demand for a league and it is not the fault of patriarchy. Track athletes are impressive (male and female) but how do you make a living doing that?

The main problem is how women simply cannot compete in sports like basketball at the same level as men, but think they can because muh equalitees. There will never be an “organic growth” of women’s basketball as an economically viable form of sports entertainment because women playing basketball simply aren’t very entertaining. I know a few female ballers who play for fun, but no matter how skilled they are, they will never be skilled enough to make a living at it. Burning through millions of dollars a year to let them cosplay as pro-ball players will not change that fact.

WNBA players aren’t paid to play. They’re paid to pander to feminist fantasies. And that’s never a profitable business model.

I couldn’t tell you the name of one WNBA player or coach. I have no interest in it all. My sister used to take her daughter to see games in Washington. She said it was going it like going to a lesbian convention. I used to take my daughter to see the local university play. I could just walk right in and take a front row seat. Maybe a hundred people in an arena that seats 15,000.
