Anonymous11I’ve done two of my PCs. I’ve noticed a number of websites now do not work with it. My Firefox began to peg CPU and disk at 100%. It seems to have been updated. Other than that, I’m fine.
Web mail on Exchange 2010 will no longer let one open a message in a pop up window.
I pity the poor Home Edition users as they cannot delay. I’ve seen one destroyed laptop and one destroyed HP All-in-One PC.
A friend lost his hard disk and Windows 7 license. I turned him onto Linux Mint. He resisted at first, and is now very happy. I installed Mint on a PC a client gave me that was just not compatible with Windows 8 or 8.1. Mint runs like a scalded dog on it.
I when I got this lap top with Windows ten on it I went in and changed all kinds of settings and turned off updates as per the advice of one of the tech support people at a company I used to work at.
Still runs the updates.

Anonymous43the update played hell with my class’s computers. we all did full system restore.
When looking at changes under the hood of Windows, turn off or set to 2000 minutes on automatic sleep for hard drives in the advanced power settings. This setting is left on at default and the setting killed two of my secondary hard drives and it took me time to track the sitting down and change it.
I use Linux for a year now. Windows only for gaming. Cannot tolerate it. One thing which I noticed in the spring update was windows isnt keeping time properly. Resets everytime. So annoying when you have check time and f~~~s up the save times in games.
Was it coded by a Tuna?

1/2 trillion dollar company…
I am wondering where all the money is going in this company.

Anonymous7I had to suffer that monstrosity on my work machine.
At home imma Mac user.
FYI at its core a Mac is BSD Unix.If you can, ditch Winblows and go with a Mac or some flavor of Linux. Linux Mint is nice.
I went back to 8.1 after losing some data when 10 s~~~ the bed. I only use Windows for steam games and running Arch Linux VMs anyways.
Self-improvement is my religion. Sovereignty is my god.
I’ve started a number of threads on Windows 10. It really is an absolutely s~~~ty operating system.
Windows 8, for all the bad rap it gets for a stupid and non-intuitive interface, at least functions correctly, and updates are optional (installed them for a while, then completely reset my PC and now don’t have a single update, works like a charm).
Women are better at multitasking? Fucking up several things at once is not multitasking.

Anonymous42Microsoft is the new Enron!
Everything about their operating systems is infused with stupidity and impossible to operate with any kind of rational thought!
I wonder how many computers got a hammer up side the motherboard solely because the toddlers at Microsoft don’t know what they’re doing or they’re completely feminized and s~~~ testing each other at the end user’s expense!
I can’t say enough bad things about Microsoft.
Linux every time.
Several governments have forbidden the use of MS software and switched to Linux because of these and backdoor issues.

Anonymous3I use Linux Mint. Open source meand less possible backdoors, and more control over the system. I do not say that it is easy. Someone has to learn stuff for using a computer in the right way. Like, not forgetting to backup the data before an OS upgrade or any other big event … dumb f~~~s… And they lost a licence? Isn’t the windows licence sticker on the back of the computer, or below the battery/on the bottom of laptops? Or why didn’t they print the code, for which they paid 150$ at least? Anyway, I think, for general usability, win7 was way better than win 8 or win 10. And win10 also has many privacy-invading “features”.
Looks like my next system is going to use a Linux GPU pass through.
A MGTOW is a man who is not a woman's bitch!
I prefer Windows 7.

MGTOW LINUX MASTER RACE !

This is what I use, sometimes when I have to wait for that will take a while, I just start my windows VM and play a little. Additionally to VFIO you can “pin” tasks to CPU cores, it make you play your game without lags even if your linux system is under a really high load !
If you have multiple video cards, you can start several machines and just add another screen+mouse+keyboard and voilá, you have ANOTHER machine to play, if you have kids etc…
Using windows like this you don’t lose that much performance, I would say 5% to 10%, but you don’t need to switch your operating system just to play, you can backup the whole machine by just copying a file, etc… Some crazy windows update f~~~ed your machine ? Just copy the old file back and everything is working ! You know all those old games that need a lot of configuration to run ? You will never need to do that again, do it once, backup the machine, and it will be there forever ! If you run windows directly, you will have to do it all over again every time you reinstall windows…
And you can do some really advanced s~~~ because it is a VM, so you can “stop” it, you can snapshot, you can play with the network card and capture the whole traffic in a way that your guest system doesn’t even have idea what is going on, can dump the whole memory and explore it without problems. For everyday users it isn’t that much of a deal, but if you like to play with malware and see how those little bastards behave in your environment, those features are welcome !
Another point, you can painless keep several windows installs, 7, 8.1, 10, XP, switch between them, whatever you want !
I prefer Windows 7.
Windows 7 is the new Windows XP.
Has some good maturity level, and yet, M$ ditched it from the market and is planning on ending the support…
THEY WILL NEVER LEARN !Anyway, I think, for general usability, win7 was way better than win 8 or win 10. And win10 also has many privacy-invading “features”.
Even disabling EVERYTHING (via confs and registry), when I need to analyze some network traffic I can see the machine sending some mysterious packets to some “telemetry” server here and there…
I won’t be surprised if they had a “blacklist” of websites, that if a user access those sites, it send a magic packet to M$ to just keep a record of who is accessing what on the internet.

Anonymous11I’m just winding up another nuked Spring Update PC. No data loss.
My question? Why the f~~~ cannot Microsoft make a reliable and available safe mode for Win8.1 and 10? They have done so in the past.
Has anyone ever seen Windows 10 Automatic Repair ever work?
I developed some custom registry hacks to work around some hare brained behavior of Windows 10 for a client. One of the workstations had my registry changes scrubbed after an update while the others were untouched. If someone has set some super arcane registry settings, why do you remotely change it on an assumption. I document very thoroughly so restore was not too difficult.
C-Pig’s Linux Mint PC Acquistion
A client purchased a PC, AMD based that just never could run Win 10 very well . I’d always suspected poor driver support or hardware microcode interfacing with WinBlows. The client gave it to me and it’s barely three years old. I dumped Linux Mint on it, and it runs flawlessly. It’ll soon be becoming my main personal PC. I even turned a friend on to Linux Mint with an old Dell XPS who cannot afford a Windows 7 license. He loves it, and the old XPS runs like its ass is on fire.
Do not ever get me started on the UEFI topic.
Has anyone ever seen Windows 10 Automatic Repair ever work?
Never seen that work before. Almost like its just there to give people false hope and take hours doing nothing. But if it’s that bad, I end up reformatting or restoring anyway.
Hope that someday I may lead others the path I have learned. As Virgil led Dante through Hell.
