Will Trump seek a second term?

We were talking about this on zoom and someone said that Trump probably won’t run for re-election. I just listened to a clip from his speech at CPAC and he said, “We’ve got seven more years to go.” So, I guess he will run for re-election. I wonder how the Dems will react to loosing another election after four years of Trump, and will the margin of victory be bigger? I hope so!

Could that not just mean the remaining years of his existing term?

Is it 5 years your presidents have in office?

Regarding an increased margin of Victory, if he does run I think he would win by a margin if:

1) The American economy has substantial growth that is realised as real improvements in living standards for the average american and the poorest.

If that happens it doesn’t matter what wares america gets involved in nor even whether the wall is built.

Gregbo’s point about Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs was an interesting way of looking at it.

Ultimately the need for food.warmth ,shelter is the motivator for everything,esteem and respect needs and self actualisation are irrelevent unless the first needs are met and met well.

As a MGTOW esteem and respect on the pyramid matter to me not one jot.

Our presidents are only allowed 2 four year terms for a combined 8 years. A president is up for election, or reelection every 4 years. FDR was the only president to ever serve more than 2 terms as president of which he served 4. This was back before the restriction. During FDR’s last term as president, Congress passed the 22nd amendment restricting an individual to only holding the office for two presidential terms.

Let’s not forget that FDR won a third term. It’s more tradition than law that a president be limited to two terms.

Ok I just re read Joetechs post properly he talks about another 7 years well maybe he does intend to run again.

If the economny does well and it is more than a small % who directly benefit then it does put Trump in a good position to win by a substantial margin I think.

it’s always really about the economy, same in UK elections.

In UK since 2011 the law says there has to be a general election every 5 years but I don’t think there is any limit on how many times they can be Prime Minister.

He will seek a second term, and I say he fails.
