Is it possible your taste in music is just terrible? I’d say most music nowadays is just incomprehensible noise. Music is no longer funded by the elite anymore; there are no composers who produce music from wealthy “patrons.” As rich as rich people are, their spending power is nothing compared to the spending power of the post-industrial middle class.

I even let her listen to her c~~~ music on it and she admitted that 25000 Euros sound good.

I was a Hi-Fi dealer and I had to replace so many good sounding systems with squeaky sounding tiny speaker “c~~~ compatible” ear torture devices… Because the wife wanted the big system “gone”…
Their husbands were very often threatened with divorce if he would not act to remove this “ugly thing” from the “stylish living” room of the McMansion he bought for the c~~~.
I felt sorry for the manginas.

Headphones are good too but you can’t replace speakers with headphones. Music and movies are just better loud sometimes. You’re supposed to feel the explosion in a good movie, not just hear it. My apologies to the neighbors.

My dad had a great Yamaha amplifier and Marantz speakers that made the whole block thump.
One of my saddest days was having to sell it bc the department of aging said he had to go to a nursing home bc Section 8 said it was unsafe for him not to be in one.
I had to find another place to stay bc without section 8, I wasn’t paying 750 a month for a one bed room in the hood.

I’ve posted this before, but I love this song. It was my “divorce anthem”. When the divorce was final and I was living in my new home, I blasted this song several times a day, every day, for at least a week. 99 Problems and a Bitch ain’t One! This song was perfect for me as I was escaping the shackles of matrimony. It’ll be a part of me forever. I wonder how many women like this song.

World class there.This thread brings so much back – I had the big ugly speakers, after the originals had blown I cut out some particle board and mounted speakers I bought one by one from Radio Shack or Lafayette (that was a long time ago), no clue what I was doing but they rocked. But those were condemned, for being ugly, replaced with a proper suburban (blue blood) Bose lifestyle system. But I was happy – Dr. Bose did some good with Beryllium.
But that also never worked – I can remember so many times, the angry arrival, the immediate “turn it to zero”. The fun sucker.

Music has been like a religion to me since one night I was falling asleep to the radio and heard the first song I can ever recall by Metallica when I was just 13 years old.
