I recently found out that the university i attend has over three thousand employees and twenty-one thousand students. That’s a ratio of one employee for every seven students. How many successful businesses do you know have a ratio of one employee for every seven customers?

“Why university tuition is so high.”

Why are homes prices so high?

Why are medical drugs prices so high?

    Why are taxes so high?

Those in power whom make themselves immune to the laws they have passed, by the politicians they control, are bleeding the commoners dry of wealth.

Though, they did not count on the people they have been screwing over for decades uniting to elect someone on a nationalist platform.

That’s a ratio of one employee for every seven students.

Now, how many students are in a classroom? To make the numbers easy let’s say it’s 28 students per class. 28 students would support 4 employees, only 1 of which is the teacher. That would make 75% of the employees at the university secondary employees. And you’re at a small college if the average class size is 28.

Because most of the fees go in their so-called social program, which only a handful of students take advantage of.

True for almost every government agency or institution.

College is a “business”. Lately it has gotten really bad because they don’t even pretend to not be a business. I saw the school i went to, they would let anyone in that had the money. It created overcrowding. They didn’t have the space to hold the students. New dorms had to be built, dorms that were supposed to hold 2 people, now held 3.

It’s a business. mostly fueled by the Baby Boomers dream and ambition of their child going to college. The pay off of going to college is usually not worth the effort or expense unless the student actually truly knows what they want to do and it required a degree to get their foot in the door in that industry. Who at 18 knows what they want to do?

As far as I’m concerned, the whole thing is basically a scam, a “bubble”, fueled by parents who have a desire to tell their friends and family, my son/daughter is in college and graduating in ….

College used to be an ambitious undertaking, something worthy of pride. Now it’s just a nonsense form of existence much like highschool. A formality. A waste of time unless the student actually knows what they want to do and needs the degree to get their foot in the door to get into the industry. Most industries, you can get in without a degree, see if you like it, then decide to go to school while working. And some businesses will even pay for the education.

Truth has no place to live in the mind of a woman.

It is form of social segregation, come from poor background and you are f~~~ed, come from money you go to 200k school you are set for life. Problem is that very few people can actually afford this and almost everyone thinks they deserve this so then you have debt slaves class.

Less young men will enroll in college in the future, and the workforce as well, because both are hostile towards males.

Fees are that high because people pay them.

I think that’s oversimplifying it a bit, but not that far off. I see college as flawed for two main reasons.

First, it actually insulates the students from real life. College life for most is not real They are not expected to deal with real problems and are told they can follow their dreams without considering reality.

Second, education can be done at such a cheaper cost. You simply don’t need to move to a new town to learn accounting and the basics of business.

Really, I think the only thing keeping colleges alive is football, government grants, and corporations that can’t be bothered to look for talent outside of colleges.

    Ok. Then do it.

A big factor in this is government backed student loans. After deciding all kids “deserve” to go to college, the government pushes for lenders supporting student loans. Banks say, screw that because they have no idea if the student will succeed. Government says, don’t worry about it, we’ll cover it. So they do, then people keep declaring bankruptcy to get out of it, so then they make it almost impossible to get out of.

So how much does college cost? How big of a loan can you get? Think about that correlation. Colleges would instantly get lean or impload of no one could borrow money to attend. This is enabled for social reasons associated with college being some form of success, but basically a government created problem.

Exactly. With the government guaranteeing the loans up front, colleges hiked costs to get all the free money.

The question of whether the graduate would ever be able to pay back those government guaranteed loans was never even raised. It didn’t matter anyway because the colleges got the money now while repayment was in the future and only involved the graduate and the government.

College was a fun place to be in your youth once.

Now it’s an expensive nightmare for young people especially young men.

I enjoyed my college experience, it was great.

Glad it was over before the ridiculous cost and bulls~~~ that goes on now.

As far as education goes there are a lot of options beside living on campus and getting a degree.

College is primarily a for profit business.

Tution, medical, housing, is so expensive because all the easy money availble to pay for it.

If there were no student loans, college’s would lower the price or the halls would be empty.

A few weeks ago I applied for a Masters course in Film and TV Production at my local uni, hoping to get a foot in the industry afterwards. (As if.) They rejected my application stating that my work experience was not good enough, yet I’ve worked on film sets and am self taught in using cameras, film editing, made my own short films etc.

F~~~ em. 10 grand the course would have cost plus i had to get a loan for living expenses.

I’d like to go to film school but the 1 year course is £18,000 then you have to find the money to support yourself for a year. F~~~ing impossible. Only rich c~~~s get to go to these schools.

Edit-forgot to mention the course is run by a WOMAN. She was the c~~~ who rejected my application. Some old c~~~ in her 60s.

It’s no different to commercial equipment – suppliers jack up the prices because they know that the firm will claim it back against tax.

Ultimately, it’s the individual taxpayer who makes up the difference.

Stolen money. People are forced to pay for services for everyone else while not be able to afford those services.

If there were no student loans, college’s would lower the price or the halls would be empty.

    Wouldn’t that be the dream.
