Lord Buddha once said “Listen to me disciples, i teach two things and two things only: suffering and the end of suffering”.

The Dalai Lama said “Don’t use Buddhism to become a Buddhist. Use Buddhism to become better at whatever else in your life you are doing already”.

That’s about all the dogma i will write in this forum so i will list now the benefits of meditation that you can begin to experience RIGHT NAO!.

1- Meditation reduces stress and by reducing stress levels you are less prone to have deceases or suffer irregularities in blood pressure or quality in your blood levels.

    2- It improves concentration.

3- Encourages healthy life styles and good life choices by not being attached or dependent on what other people want, think or do.

4- It increases happiness by allowing you the natural process of self evaluation and realization, nothing pays off more than to spend time with yourself and by doing so you are giving yourself higher moral or spiritual value.

5- Meditation is proven to slow aging by keeping stress levels low and starving social pressures or showing detachment to society and problems that are around.

6- Meditation induces the brain to begin the production of more grey and white matter, more grey and white matter has been attributed to increased IQ, Better brain performance, less trauma relapse, more space for memory, preserves memory also and helps to produce more new nerve endings that help with complex calculations or processes.

7- Meditation also helps reduce depression by down 75% and lessens anxiety down to 30%

8- Emotional Well-being, lessens stress, fear and loneliness, it can also enhance self-esteem and self acceptance.

9- Meditation can help young adults or children with ADHD better than drugs.

10- It improves breathing and heart rates, lessens heart & brain problems, Lessens inflammatory disorders and asthma.

I could go on but these are the main ones that may concern us men the most, you can find more information on the web and also by practicing. By practicing meditation you are not necessarily practicing Buddhism, there are many kinds of Buddhism and Buddha or the man known as Gautama did not invent the therm or spiritual path, he only improved upon it, Buddhist ways were a thing back then before he even started doing it.

I practice all kinds of Buddhism and Hinduism, i used to suffer from depression, psychosis and schizophrenia but now those symptoms have lessen, i also Practice Zen or ZAZEN that is much more down to the basics of meditation with no idol, religions and/or spiritual ideology, Samurai warriors of ancient Japan used meditation or Zen to surpass the fear of death even.

A quote i will add and this is by me “When you meditate the world revolves around you, when you live life you will revolve around life itself – Master Rorak” So which one you want to be?, the silly pointless orbiter? or the master of your own destiny…

I find no fault in your argument. Self reflection is a fundamental requirement in life.

A large portion of problems mankind suffers from, are people who refuse to self reflect. I’ll follow with the words of Jesus.

John: 3. 19. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

God himself says that error, suffering , and a host of other problems come from some people refusing to reflect on (sin)

    Buddhism is fascinating.

I wish I could quiet my mind enough to begin, but I’m just too high wired.
