    Game Theory is my favorite show on youtube and this episode pretty much explains how women ruined comic con even though the author doesn’t outright say it.

    I have been saying for years that the inclusion of non comic related material at comic con is a bad thing because it draws too many different types of fans and makes the con to crowded and this video does a great job at proving that. I know women were going to comic con as far back as the 70’s when it started,but they were there for the comic books, the same thing as the men, so it wasn’t a problem because both the men and women enjoyed that. Now you can see the huge problem this has caused.

    Wow. It’s like the time I went to Cedar Point. It was one of those things on my bucket list. I made the mistake of only going for one day and I waited in line for the majority of it. I only rode 3 coasters 🙁 If only we could ban women from amusement parks!

    Uggh…Twilight…blgggh!

    No surprise. Women also ruin search engines. As a man when I am looking for a piece of hardware to fix something, I might type in “hardware store city name”… but if a woman is looking for a discount handbag (which no woman ever does) she might type in “purses near where I buy my Starbucks”.

    Women ruined marriage. Women ruined Valentine’s Day with their selfishness too. Women ruin football with those stupid pink socks they want NFL players to wear because of breasts cancer (they don’t even give a s~~~ about prostate cancer)…. women ruin the legal system when you let them vote, and you can bet women will ruin comicon.

    PS. I had no idea that event was that huge!

    Yeah it is a huge con the with more high quality superhero films and being a nerd now the”cool” thing to do it got even more crowded. They need to split the con into 2 parts. Media con for movie and tv stuff. Let all the fake fans who only care about the big name hollywood stars go to that con and then have comic con for all the comics, animation, and video games so people like me can actually enjoy the con. I do worry about the future though because almost all conventions have a rave every night and maybe another kind of dance and I fear the day more women non nerdy women learn about cosplay and conventions. I can just picture more women who have never read a comic book in their life or didn’t even know who the Avengers were until it was a movie finding out that there are conventions where they can dress up while having guys give them constant attention while taking their picture, get drunk, and go to raves. Basically they could treat cons as a 3-4 day Halloween that gets them male attention and thus it will be harder to get tickets.

    http://www.macleans.ca/authors/jaime-weinman/at-comic-con-mainstream-comics-reach-out-to-girl-fans/

    A recent report showed that 46 per cent of all people who self-identify as comics fans are female. Some of these fans may not buy current mainstream comics, but maybe they would if the companies give them something they want to buy.

    so they are new fans but want it all to change to suit them……

    I’m not into comics but feel for the true fans who are getting shafted

    Just because they watch comic book movies and tv shows does not give them the right to call themselves comic fans. Why should people like me have to suffer because some women don’t like what is currently being put out? A prime example as to why women shouldn’t be included in male spaces. These women wouldn’t buy comics anyway even if they changed it to their needs. They just want to ruin the comic book industry so us men can suffer.

    I attended Comic-Con back in 2006 and it was a freaking blast. I never had the urge to go back though, but I did not know that it had gotten this bad. Why even bother?

    @vilenord

    Reminds of the time I went to Epcot, the lines were so long even very early in the morning, that we only got on one ride.

    Also women pretty much ruin most everything they get their hands on.

    That’s one reason amateur radio is so much fun.  It’s mostly OMs and not many YLs and XYLs, so we can talk about signal strength or antennas without having to apologize for it.

    OM = old man (i. e., guy)

    YL = young lady (i. e., girlfriend)

    XYL = ex-young lady (i. e., wife)

    There are lots of ladies who have their callsigns (often to share the activity a boyfriend or husband) but many of them aren’t on the air.  But, to be fair, though, any women who get behind the microphone are accorded the same courtesy and respect as the men.  We welcome their presence and they are often quite knowledgeable.

    I really hope the Japanese video games industry remains untainted by western feminism. I’ve recently completed and finished several Japanese games that purely focus on gameplay and don’t lean on petty sentiments, petty relationships and petty quarreling (like the game of the year 2014 The Last Of Us) to move the game and its story forward. Dark Souls and Dragon’s Dogma are two prime examples of what Japanese (men) can produce in terms of gameplay with tons of depth and great atmosphere without the need to add any long-winded  cutscenes to address a certain aspect of a character’s personality or feeelings towards something (which the feminised western games industry is producing more of in its games these days).

    I think the entire games industry will eventually become a female oriented one. Most casual gamers are female and more companies are catering to them. Many genres now have a feminised aspect to them and recent rpgs such as DA:I and Mass Effect mostly revolve around your decisions in various relationships with the other characters of the game. I really hate all of the petty intrigue and backstabbing in those games. Japanese games on the other hand do have this sort relationship development in games but they do it in a meaningful and more direct way that actually contributes to the development of a story. I remember Metal Gear Solid had many long cutscenes with conversations between Snake and the various other characters but they were never mired in pointless tangents and unrelated arguments.

    Anime Con is the same, after they combined Anime North with ‘anything feminists find interesting’ con, pretty well everything was ruined. That said, here in China the anime Con’s are bursting with HOT look-alike asian women who are all very slim and fit. Its a complete opposite to what you see in Canada, where the majority of cosplayers are spaghetti stained, warpigs. Asian’s do it right.

    My Asian wife is a huge fan of Anime but is too shy to dress up anywhere apart from the bedroom. Today she wore a maid cosplay outfit while doing the laundry… that was cool.
