    Hi guys.

I’m definitely on a downer in my life at the moment, call it a quarter life crisis if you like, you’d probably be right. Apologies if I seem negative and a cynic, its just how I am.

I’m 31, and for most of my life have done dead end security jobs, other dead end jobs in-between those dead end jobs and eventually I have become a jack of all trades and master of none, no savings, in debt, and feeling jaded as f~~~ and disillusioned by everything. I have only ever been employed in failure only jobs, where you are one step away from being given the boot and replaced in the blink of an eye, because you decided to not suck dick one day and not de-humanise yourself further.

My main grip is that when I left school, I tried to make a go of my life and applied for the Army, the police, all the usual bollocks that I thought would made a good career at the time for a young guy. I was 19 and working on a construction site when I applied for the British Army and was rejected due to my irregular heart history. The UK Police sent back my application saying I had failed the questionnaire thingy and answered a question not to their satisfaction etc. I completely lost interest in both and had no idea what to do. From the age of 19 I have just gone from one s~~~e job to another, and oh look, here I am, disgruntled and fed up with everything, aged 32 almost. No savings, no assets, in debt…etc. Hoooraaay!!!!!

I don’t think of myself as lazy, and I certainly don’t think anyone owes me anything. I simply don’t fit the mold when it comes to certain character traits employers want and society deems important with respect to work or careers. But, alas, what does it matter in todays world where in the UK you cant even get a job cleaning s~~~ out of toilet bowls??? Jobs are almost impossible to come across.

My point being-I am totally fed up with doing s~~~ jobs and then being so enraged and fed up with them that i am forced to quit due to my life long clinical depression, and lacking the temperament and fortitude to care anymore about working for some slave wage company.

I have exhausted all the ideas I have and all hope in finding something I can at least tolerate. When I was employed, I found it impossible to calibrate that careful balance between work and happiness anyway.

When I moaned to my family at one point in my life years ago, about how I wanted to be in a band, and be a film director, and how i was sick to death of doing jobs i despised, they all laughed in my face and said the cliche “you should have done better in school”, “you should have gotten a trade”, and stop being a dreamer, get a f~~~ing grip, and be a man and work. So for the last 10 or so years i have while raising a son. If i had the money i would have loved to of gone to film school years ago and even to this day. You should see the fees. Insane.

Because Ive done so many s~~~ jobs over the years, and even jobs other people have liked doing but I’ve hated, I have ended up despising the very thought of getting a full time job again. I’m sick to death of dealing with other people and being around them. It’s all the same s~~~.

It sounds pathetic, but I could only handle working somewhere like a book shop, an internet cafe, helping a charity where i go out an ‘make a difference’, somewhere relaxed and not filled with scum f~~~s who will make every day a misery for me.

For the last 6 years I have taught myself video editing, taught myself how to operate several different types of cameras from DSLR’s to 16mm and have a huge invested interest in film making as ive always been a movie fan and film buff and always wanted to make films of my own. I have made 2 short movies for the 48 hour NZ film competitions here over the years which admittedly are wank, but they were both screened at the universities and the cinemas here with the other films. I directed over 20 people on my own and threw myself into the deep end. I wrote, directed and edited all my films on my own. Gotta start somewhere right? THIS is what I want to do as a dream job, or at least make a living from it. I’m also a musician and writer, so these things combined really help with making a film.

My dreams and aspirations f~~~ up everything else in my life because i find it impossible to work a full time job without going insane. I can’t keep a job for long, I’m constantly writing scripts and have stacks of notepads in my car and take one wherever i go even at work and am constantly scribbling ideas and thoughts into it. Anyway, this post is all over the place so sorry about that.

The bottom line is-its almost impossible to find a full time job in the UK today. England is f~~~ed, has been for years, now we’ve left the EU so more political turmoil and more bulls~~~ and ohhh f~~~ off. It never ends does it?

My creative aspirations are completely down to my own determination and luck, luck always plays a huge part in everything, but I’m asking you guys for some advice please. I will be leaving NZ soon, going to live with my grandmother like I did over 10 years ago, going back to square one but as a new man. I need some way of making a living to support myself and not end up on the street. I have a UK SIA security license and i can get bouncer work on the weekends pretty easily i think, but i refuse to go back to security full time ever again. I guess without my license I’m pretty screwed finding work, but theres no garuntees i’ll find a job doing doorwork either.

Anyway…dear oh dear..ive screwed this post up and just rambled like a moron.

As a MGHOW, I long for a place of my own at the end of all this, and to be able to live comfortably, even if i am poor, while doing what i love-film making and music and writing, while having my son live with me. No women and none of their bulls~~~.

Thanks for reading this stupid s~~~, I appreciate it.

Thanks for reading this stupid s~~~, I appreciate it.

No sweat bro! Keep doing the films and writing, it obviously makes you happy, consider a critical thinking film where you put the viewer inside the mind of a modern man and how the marriage strike was inevitable, I think you’re more than capable of telling a short MGTOW story, people love informative s~~~ that they can live out in a movie. Some of the the most striking films I’ve seen are short moral stories. Cheer up, and good luck!

Here’s a piece of advice for you. College is a COMPLETE waste of time and money. Don’t kick yourself for not going. You are NEVER going to get ahead working for some asshole corporation. If you’re lucky and you save every f~~~ing dime, you might not have to work for the last 5-10 years of your life. But you’ll never be able to actually enjoy your life and you’re going to be miserable.

The ONLY way to get ahead in life nowadays is to become your own boss. Even if you had a college degree and got a great paying job, your company would sack you for a younger worker and they would either deny you raises or even cut your pay – all the while inflation will be running out of control and your money you get will buy less and less.

Being your own boss sucks ass. It is HARD. You have to motivate yourself to work even when you don’t want to. Even when you don’t HAVE to. There is no one pushing you forward. You have to push yourself. And it’s almost impossible for most people. But the alternative is even worse.

There is no free ride in life. Your #1 goal needs to be making as much money as you can, as quickly as possible. You never know when you won’t be able to work. Hopefully you’ll be 60-70 by the time you can’t work anymore, but s~~~ happens. And the government is NOT there for you unless you’re a woman or black (at least here in the US).

My suggestion is to take your passion and turn it into a business. Start your own studio. Or do work for other companies (but NOT as an employee!). The beauty of being an independent contractor is YOU set your wages.

If you want to start small with $0 startup cost, then start a YouTube channel. If you can get enough followers and viewers, the ad revenues can earn you a lot of money.

I strongly suggest AGAINST starting a business that you hate. It will never work. I’ve started dozens of businesses, some I’ve loved and others I’ve hated. The ones I’m passionate about ALWAYS do better. One of the ways I make good money is I start a business and then I sell it. I sold the last business I made for over $100,000. My cost was around $2,500 and about 100 hours of my time. That’s almost $1,000/hour. Not too shabby. Ironically the business was related to cosmetics. I absolutely HATED it. I mean seriously. I could NOT care less about women’s beauty products. But s~~~, there’s a TON of money in it.

Anyway, I would recommend spending some time and coming up with some business ideas. It’s simple. What do you have to offer that other people will be willing to pay you for? How can you find these people (or help them to find you)? If you can answer those two questions, you’ve got yourself a business. It’s really that simple. There are other more complex questions like how much are they willing to pay and how much is providing that product/service going to cost you, but you can worry about that later on in the brainstorming process. The two most important questions are those I mentioned earlier.

True man, true. I’m not afraid to put myself out there, just hate coming across people who have given up or don’t have the same enthusiasm as me to make films. You’d be amazed how many people mess you about and waste your time.

Thanks for the advice DarkRyu. The only thing I could think of would be filming stuff for people, but I need to get a job to buy a new camera to do so, and they are not cheap by any means. I’m also a competent writer when I’m not swearing and writing mindlessly lol. Hmmmm…I have thought about the starting my own business thing, I’d love to be my own boss. I think I would be much more motivated than working for someone else for sure. Thanks again. Will think about it some more 🙂

Excuses, excuses. Anytime you think “I can’t because of X,” it’s absolute bulls~~~. You can start with simple projects using your smartphone. Or rent the professional equipment if you want. Or buy it for your first gig, and then return it until you can actually afford to buy it and keep it. Get a loan or put it on a credit card. If banks won’t touch you, then get private investors. You can do anything you set your mind to. If somebody else can do it, so can you. This sounds like bulls~~~ female motivational talk, but it’s true. The only thing you need is passion and drive, and only YOU can give yourself that.

The most valuable asset in the world is passion and drive, and the ability to kick yourself in the ass and get yourself moving. If you have that, even if you’re a dumbass and make lots of mistakes, something will eventually stick.

I take back what I said, that working for a corporation will never let you get ahead. There is ONE exception I can think of. Commissioned sales. Because you basically are working for yourself with a guaranteed minimum salary. You can make as much as you want. I’ve never worked for anyone else (I’ve always been my own boss), but an old friend of mine was a salesman. Made more than $300,000/year. He could have done much better, but said that $300,000/year was “enough,” and I respected his decision. You have to live your life too.

Alright. Nothing is going to happen in NZ, its a f~~~ing waste of time here, so when I get back England I already have a contact and good friend who is as motivated and passionate as me to make films. We’ve agreed to go halves on a 4k Camera, I’m sure my granny will help me as shes always helped me out in the past. I know several football clubs that would love to have their games filmed so thats where I’m going to start. You film it in 50FPS and after every goal can edit in a slow mo replay which im sure people would love, plus adding in 3d titles and motion graphics. A good start do you think?

I’ve already used my iphone to make films with the app Filmic Pro and its a bag of s~~~ that drops frames constantly and lags, plus i only have 8 GB’s and its not even worth it.

Anyway, the football match gigs is just a starting point. There are many things I could film for people and the Youtube channel idea has always been on my mind.

Thanks for your input again mate, I appreciate it. Give it to me straight!

What immediately came to my mind when I was reading your “stupid s~~~” was short films and, again, YouTube would be the perfect platform for that to start with. There are people like me who would browse YouTube for short films of a specific genre and a specific topic and I was often surprised by how professionally made many of them are. Concerning filming equipment – I don’t know anything about it. But as for actors you could go and have look inside acting schools, maybe of smaller localities. My sister attends an acting school, so I know students there are often willing to participate in a project for free or even help you with equipment if they have connections. And since you have some experience in film making, directing, editing etc. you got something to convince them to work with you. Of which genre are your stories mostly?

Hi. Definitely will go down that road once I’m back in the UK. My film ideas are quite dark. They are about mental illness, struggle, revenge, drug addiction, being homeless etc, and are based in Cambridgeshire. (for those particular stories.) I also have some horror/supernatural movie ideas that I would love to see come to fruition. And i don’t mean gore, slasher or zombie bulls~~~. (altho they are all cool in their own respect.)

Think Dead Mans Shoes, Taxi Driver, Bad Lieutenant (the 1992 original), Falling Down, the works of Chris Cunningham, like that Aphex Twin video Come To Daddy. My scary film ideas are based on my nightmares, life experiences, a horrific bad drug trip I had once, and many other things.

I love horror/scary movies like John Carpenters The Thing, The Entity, Jacobs Ladder, The Shining, Hellraiser, etc.

Follow the money. It doesn’t matter of 90% of the population is poor as dirt and can’t afford anything but food and clothing. In that case you either sell food and clothing, or target the other 10%. And thing’s aren’t nearly that bad. If you have a product or service that people are willing to pay for, and you can find those people, you’ve got yourself a business. So long as you’re targeting the right people, you’ll do well.

Thanks for your motivational inputs folks. I have been bouncing from job to job, and my mind, and spirit and health has been struggling to be able to work again, yes it is THAT BAD, however, this has motivated me to try again, and try harder.

    THANKS!
