I was thinking about single mothers recently after reading a post on a message board site and it was about dating websites. On the dating websites single mothers post trying to get a man to take care of the kid they created. But women do have a choice whether to abort the pregnancy or to give birth. While men have condoms and the snip even thou not all men want to be sterile. So my mine question is why do women keep the baby’s they have out of wedlock? Is it evoultionary? do they think that the alpha male or the asshole will propose to them in marriage? is it a attempt to blackmail their boyfriends into marriage or 18 years of payments? Any imput would help clear this up.

My opinion is that they want the baby more than the father. Women grew up playing with dolls and now they have their own baby to play with. Also, society does value motherhood, at least at a superficial level. So a baby makes a woman “successful”. She gets to be the center of attention for 9+ months. She gets special treatment e.g. Doors held open, positive reinforcement from peers “you are so strong for doing this by yourself”, baby showers.

You guessed it. If child support/alimony was voluntary and at the discretion of the male and government handouts were cut way back, the amount of single mothers out there would definitely drop over the coming decades. Its all a big game to them now, if they want kids they know they won’t have to pay for it, so what’s it matter if they have it with a loser try to trap some beta bucks they treat like s~~~…either way someone is going to pay for it and it won’t be them. You know, they could treat a guy decent and actually try to keep him around and have a traditional family, but that would require work and effort on their part, the other options are easier.

I get the idea of them using pregnancy as a way to tie the knot especially since family members don’t approve of their children growing up to have bastard children and will likely pressure you into marriage to perfect the fantasy of the perfect marriage. I know if i went and had a bastard child ( im not trying to have bastard children) then i probably would get pressured to marry the skank i knocked up and if not i would probably get disowned defellowshiped and defriended by most in my community. So in closing always wear a condom, she probably is lying about being on the pill, and don’t get married because the condom broke.

I’ guesing most guys here are talking from a US stand point. I can confirm that things are far far worse in UK. It’s not unusual for girls as young as 14 to get banged up deliberately as a life style choice. They get a free house, free health care, free schools and free money for life.
