Why do women hug each other at work?

I saw two women today at work get all giddy then hug each other as their greeting. At Work. I had a flashback to Junior High School. These women are just coworkers, yet they acted like they are long lost bff. I have seen this a few times in the last couple of weeks. Ages range from 24-50+.

My experience is women at work despise each other, they back stab, the put down, they slut shame each other, ect ect ect. Corporate has special events for them to build teamwork, special speakers, programs for inclusion and everything else. The biggest hurdle for a woman at work is other women, yet they hug each other? In the past, I read articles when I was pua about hugging when you meet them and when you leave. Maybe they are using this trick? So why do they do it? Is this just an American woman trait or AWALT?

I know NFG and why ask why a woman does anything, but I figure you fellas have already had this topic come up and could shed some light. Being that we hire only women now, I need to get used to this crap on a daily basis. Thanks!

Women hug because they need constant reassurance. They also want to insinuate themselves into each others good books because they are insecure backstabbers. Its that classic scenario where you see a group of women talking happily. One leaves. They all hug goodbye and then bitch the hell out of the one who left. You saw your mother do it, you saw your sister do it, you saw your lover do it. Its the same the world over. Act all sweet to reassure because you are insecure and have reason to be because of your behaviour.

They are used to having their needs met from men who they don’t care for at all. If someone is my enemy I don’t want anything from them. This is one reason why I gave up on pump and dump. Just couldn’t continue the charade. Yeah I could sleep with women regularly, but it just meant I had to fake my interest regularly.

The catch-word is Frenemies. It describes the universal nature of female alliance building where women use exaggerated gestures and words of endearment to mutually groom each other to reinforce factional unity.
They’re not really friends, it’s female business.
