Why are women always miserable at work?

The higher prevalence of women in the workforce has led to lower happiness rates in women according to studies. The most dissatisfied group is 40 year old childless women working in professional fields (doctor, lawyer, etc). I contend that women are not abiding to their important evolutionary roles of being mothers and caretakers. Years ago, I worked in a bakery (90% female) and I can’t ever recall many female coworkers ever smiling even once for the years I worked there. They all looked like the decrepit captured German soldiers of Stalingrad in 1943 barely trudging along on their death march.

Because they have to work. If they had a “Proper Husband” he would earn enough to support her and her spawn so she could live what all women want. A life of leisure. In the back of their minds they should be princesses and their every whim fulfilled.

This is also why women have a tendency to be miserable most of the time. Media tells them they are special snowflake princesses. Reality say’s “Screw you”. 🙂

They’re miserable….period. Doesn’t matter where they’re at. They expect a ‘career’ or a man to make them happy when you have to be happy with yourself, to be, well, happy.

You would think with there fabulous college degrees, fancy clothes, wonderful multi tasking abilities and being smarter than everyone else; work would be the happiest place on earth for them.

Work is a lose-lose path for women. Subconsciously, they know how SMV works. Youth is their true currency and is being wasted all on work. In the long run, you lose all of your attractiveness in youth and beauty, when you hit the wall, and your pool of potential mates shrinks even more, the more achieved you are in your career. Then the rationalization hamster kicks in, they want to believe in that they made the right choice, that they’re happy, but subconsciously they know, the reality is, they slammed face first into the wall, they have zero SMV, they’re past their prime, they wish they were that new 20 years old hot chick getting all the attention, the more they stay at work the more they lose what little they have left. When you live with your mind in constant conflict like this, you are bound to be miserable and depressed.

To me, I don’t care anymore. Women wanted to work so badly, wanted to leave their castle to join serfdom because they’re being oppressed in the nice castle and missing out on serf work lol, okay you can have all of it, you deal with it.

OK, here’s my take on it.

There are a lot of specific reasons why various women are unhappy, but I think the fundamental, common factor is that they expect someone else to make them happy. So do lot of men. But that never, ever works. At best it results in temporary pleasure, but that’s not the same thing as happiness.

The only person who can make someone happy is them self. That’s why female unhappiness is not just not my problem to solve, it’s not a problem I CAN solve. I can only work on my own happiness, and even then I generally prefer contentment to mere happiness.

Speaking of contentment, it’s something I have NEVER seen any woman achieve, which also goes back to them expecting someone else to provide it for them. Most men can assess the price for a given benefit, decide the benefit is not worth the price, and be content with what they already have. Most women don’t ever consider the price, because they expect someone else to pay it, and so they only ever see the benefit they don’t have, and that means they will always be discontent with what they have.

It’s not a part of a woman’s chemical make up to work, they want to be cared for and to provide care (if they are decent) a workplace is not about caring for anyone (Medical Fields and Child Care excepted) they have also sacrificed their chance at marriage and reproduction, add to this the fact that women can’t deal with stress. This thread made me remember a conversation between two female co-workers just a couple of days ago:
“So you are no longer together with your man?”

“No, I have my needs and he was not willing to provide.”

Geeez, I thought, ‘just make yourself happy, why look to someone else for happiness?’
