We are all here because we want to Go Our Own Way.  Some of us might not be sure why we want to Go Our Own Way and are still searching.  I figured why not talk about Buddha who is a Man that decided to go MGTOW when it was the most unpopular thing to do 2,500 year’s ago in super Traditional India.

Buddha was a price and was next in line to become the King.  His father provided every thing Buddha needed so he would never leave the pleasures of royal life.  His father choose a beautiful princess for him to marry.  Buddha had a child soon after his marriage.

One day, Buddha woke up and realized that he was very unhappy with his life.  Some this was missing.  He was feeling restless with the life he was living.  Buddha was very dissatisfied with his life even though his father the king provided every pleasurable thing in the world for him.

Buddha’s Great Departure As A MGTOW Man.

“On the day that Buddha left the palace, he was presented with the vision of a holy man, which revealed that his wife had borne a son.  He now faced a choice: either he must become a householder with a life subject to worldly restrictions or he must renounce conventional existence.

    Turning away from sensuality
A Pali body of texts called the Vinaya describes how Buddha lay down to sleep.  When he awoke his female attendants and musicians were asleep around him:  “Some lay with their bodies wet with drool; some ground their teeth and muttered in their sleeep; some lay with their mouths open; other lay with their clothes in disarray to reveal their nakedness.  “Finally convinced that a life of sensuality would lead to unhappiness, Buddha determined to leave and seek spiritual happiness in the “deathless state of nirvana”

Before he left, Siddhartha(Buddha) went to see his family.  On a bed strewn with flowers, his wife and son slept, her hand on the baby’s head.  He knew that if he picked up his son, the queen would wake and prevent him from leaving.  He left without walking them, vowing:  “When I am a buddha, I will return.”

Siddhartha left the palace with this friend Chandaka.  At the city gate Siddhartha cut off his hair and beard and put on a yellow robe.  Then he sent his groom back to the palace and began his homeless life alone.  And so he found that “in the free air is freedom from the world”. Tow Lowenstine from the book, Buddhist Inspirations

I believe Buddha is one of the earliest will know MGTOW men who also happens to be the most famous MGTOW man in the world today.  That’s just my opinion.  Buddha’s decision to be “in the free air is freedom from the world”  idea is what I was also looking for a while as I was living in hell for 12 years of my marriage.  Reading about Buddha helped me when I decided to divorce my ex wife.  Buddha was an inspiration to me in choosing to become a MGTOW.

I think Buddha had set a great example for all of us to follow.  Because of his strong decision to go MGTOW, he was able to come up with “Four Noble Truths” and “EightFold Path” to end all suffering.  This teaching have helped million of people around the world in finding lasting happiness.

Please share any thoughts about your own realizations of becoming a MGTOW man.  What ideas and realizations helped you live a happy life.  Please share your wisdom.  I would help us all out.  Thank you.

Interesting analysis Ray. Love it!!  The Eight-Folded Path is some cool shiet!

The Life/Metaphor of the Buddha appeals to me. However, I’ve learned to leverage the metaphoric life of the Buddha in a Light that allows me to practically and safely navigate the everyday, modern Bullshiet, Clown-shiet World we live in.

What I gleam from Gautama is not so much a literal “F~~~ the World, I’m putting on my Yellow Robe and getting the f~~~ out here.”  Rather, it’s about putting on your Yellow Timbalands with the Yellow Shoelaces (Yellow is an ancient symbol for Balance/The Golden Mean) and walking around this Muthaf~~~in’ Earth with my Nuts hanging out without getting caught in any Bullshiet.

Gautama and other mystics like Thirumoolar would say that “The World is an Illusion”.  Remixed, “The World is Full of Bullshiet. Step above it, not in it.”  Puffy-Daddy Remixed, it’s all about learning how to live IN this Bullshiet world without being/becoming OF this Bullshiet World.  Makes sense?  Uh-Ha. Yeah.

Example:  We have desires (i.e. we want Pussy, Money, Weed, Cars, Houses, Dogma, Ideology, Things, Stuff, Dumb Shiet, Etc).  Desires are inevitable.  Occasionally, I want some Pussy or a Tofuburger.  But Desires don’t have to define us or rule us.   Ok.  I get some Pussy. I get a Tofuburger afterwards.  Yum.  Cool.  No problem…Unless I get caught in the Desire for Pussy or think I have to be a Vegetarian to the point where I Wife-Up/Date some Drama Pussy or end up eating an imbalanced diet of Soybeans. Seitan and Carrots and get caught up in it.   Fortunately, through some intense internal processing (i.e. working and flushing through my inner Bullshiet accumulated from previous cycles of relationships and interactions with others), I’ve developed much more discernment…so that I can avoid Wife-ing Up Drama Pussy or getting caught up/attached to Bullshiet dogmas.

However most muthaf~~~as get caught up in their desires (Pussy, Cars, Dogma, Things), Identify with Bullshiet Desires or Dogmas, see their lives and happiness tied to these desires, get Caught the F~~~ up with them and get Burned.  Getting Burned=Suffering.

The Buddha said that Desire/Attachment to Bullshiet leads to Suffering.  To remix it a bit, GETTING CAUGHT UP in Desire/Attachment to Bullshiet leads to Suffering/Getting Burned.

So…I wear my Yellow Tims with Yellow Laces and whereever the fuc I want to go in this Muthafruckin World without getting caught in Dumb Shiet.  Nuts hanging of course.

This is the Power of the Buddha Mind in the modern era.

Buddha’s Great Departure As A MGTOW Man

Thank-you for this post. I found it very interesting. I love the wisdom found in the Eastern religious philosophies of Buddhism and Taoism.

There is a quote attributed to Buddha that really helped me move away from years of anger and into my present life of MGTOW, happiness and freedom.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned. Buddha.

Excellent thread y’all! Albert, here’s a quote for you, it’s one of my favorites:

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
    –Buddha

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

Jed McKenna’s trilogy on enlightenment was really fun to read. It’s an MC Escher painting in print. Highly Recommended.
