The organization classifies gaming addiction as a “pattern of persistent or recurrent gaming behavior which may be online or offline.” The description says that the addiction may manifest by impaired control over gaming onset, frequency, intensity, duration or context, increasing priority giving to gaming so much so that it takes precedence of over aspects of daily life, and continuing or escalating gameplay despite negative consequences.

——-Have known a few who went overboard on the gaming thing when the MMRPG’s came on the internet. Some never figure out the game is for entertainment and it is not serious. The totally awesome gear you have now will be crap in less then a year as the game keeps expanding. Thus the need to keep raiding for better gear. Which ends up being the lure that hooks some.

But to qualify there has to be a consistent pattern of neglecting other obligations, such as physical health, for over one year. I don’t think too many gamers, even serious ones, will qualify. And psychiatrists are so far refusing to call it a disorder. The WHO follows their own path and answers to almost no one.

They have already classified social media, Facebook and Instagram and others. The addiction is real. Like gambling, booze and drugs.

This is no surprise. People have obsessive compulsive behaviors. There was a story about a guy who died in a gaming Cafe in Japan after spending days completely engulfed.

Gents, just use moderation in all things!

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Sounds familiar. Almost like saying its a mental disorder when young boys are thinking about having fun rather than learning about stuff they have no interest in. I believe they called that disorder ADHD.

Next thing they will have a new drug for young kids that makes them “not interested” in video games. Then mothers will force their kids to take these drugs so they can be more “socially acceptable”.

Then half of them will commit suicide, and the other half will be incarcerated.

You want to make me angry? I will take a bite out of that anger and shit out success.
