I unfortunately have to offer that the priority is now towards one self.

No one else is of concern unless there is an extreme emergency, then they call out to any and everyone for assistance … typically God first.

Promises and oaths are given, plans are made and long term decisions espoused, many great and noble future acts are discussed.

Once the emergency / crisis / delusion has passed, then they revert to self centered mode and concentrate on themselves until the next predictable incident.

Any and all discussions during the “time of crisis” are discarded faster than an empty can of beer.

If you are separated from your father you can’t get help from above. This forum is a crutch (an oasis in the man desert) where a broken man can be with other men. We are artificial father’s in a way.

I have come to understand how important the natural order is.

I feel four the brothers that are growing up with single or remarried mom’s. They have never known order.

Those that have read my posts will probably have noticed a change. More of a religious type bent.

I am not a thumper but I am a bator.

I had forgiven my father before he died 14 years ago. I spent last 6 months of his life reconnecting after being estranged for 10 years. When he died I was at peace and thankful that I had that time with him.

In the past months I had heard that you have to forgive and reunite with your father.

I kind of thought it was all hocus pocus. I was just sitting in a chair and my mind went back to a childhood memory (previous post about boat).

Bing bang boom. Crazy stuff brothers. I was in that boat looking up at my father. I realized that in that moment he was the most important thing in my life. He chuckled his low belly chuckle.

I know that some will tell me to put my beer down.

But, I tell you brothers, if it helps only one of you out or none of you out, it matters not to me. It is.

I can now go to him any time I wish. It is like living in a daze of NFG.

As the old line goes “you can choose your friends but not your family.” To attempt to find your own way, you HAVE to attempt at resolving relationships with direct family.

I agree with you that NFG can be applied to this issue, but if you do, then you are concealing and attempting to negate part of your life.

If you do not resolve, at a minimum within you mind only, those issues that serve as blinders upon your later life, then you are letting life circumstances determine your path and you CANNOT go your own way.

Here is the thing GregBo. I no longer go my own way. I go my fathers own way.

You misunderstood my NFG statement because I was confusing in my writing.

I am in order with my earthly father and through him, in him and with him am in order with my heavenly father. I now understand this to be the holy spirit.

I no longer stand alone with feet firmly planted, face into the wind. I stand with my father. His will be done. I look to him for direction/path.

Most always, it is the path I would never select. In the past I would refuse and go my way or worse yet, a woman’s way.
