Seems to me it’s a whole lot cheaper to simply stop paying them anything. They have a unilateral “right to choose”. So why should everyone else be forced to bankroll their selfish choice to have a child they cannot afford to feed?

What’s the average price of an abortion? Give each single mother that much AND NOTHING MORE. Once women figure out they’re going to have to pay for their own reproductive choices, the problem of single motherhood will go away all on its own.

In the same respect since men have no say in the creation of a child anymore the ONLY choice we have as men is to POLICE THAT SPERM. With regards to single mothers, I think the male pill will be a life altering product when it is brought to market. I think it will shake society way more than most people imagine.

Think about it. There have been too many stories on this site about a guy who always tarps his load, and the one time a woman says do it without a condom she gets pregnant and the guy is trapped. Think about the pro athletes who can then screw any chick and not get them pregnant. All of sudden they aren’t playing roulette with those hotel whores. The pay for being a “professional whore” will drop significantly when the man is on the pill. And, be honest guys, are you EVER going to forget to take that pill?

Isn’t it funny how women say they aren’t that high on the male pill because they don’t know if they can trust a guy with birth control. The real problem is that they know they CAN trust us with it. And then we can be just as deceptive as they are. Can you imagine your wife thinks that the two of you are trying to get pregnant, only to later find out that you are on the pill and just using it as an excuse to finally get some regular sex? How p~~~ed off would you be ladies?

There will be so many fewer single moms after the male pill. You will still have the guy getting married, having kids and then losing them in divorce court, but the “girlfriend experience” will become almost nonexistent.

It’s not going to be a pill guys. It’s Valasgel and it’s already in clinical trials.

They block the vas deferens with a silicone-like gel. Like a vasectomy but without cutting anything. If you decide you want to have kids later, a quick procedure flushes the gel out and you’re good to go, no harm no foul. Or at least that’s the theory.

So far testing in dogs, cats, and baboons all have zero sperm count with the gel in, and are restored after the flush, with the exception of some dogs I think because of the physical shape/size of the vas deferens.

Of course it’s cheaper to not support single mothers then it is to support them. The reason we support them (primary reason) is because as a society we decided would not let anyone in our society fail. We won’t stand by and watch children starve on the streets, regardless of the bad decisions their parents make. [The same goes for the elderly, cheaper to let them go then keep them alive]

And you are right that it is not fair for those that are paying to support these kids. And many/most of these parents are not trying to figure out how to support themselves, thus perpetuating the overall problem.

It’s a catch-22 without a doubt. You either pay off these folks and keep your conscious intact, or you let them destroy themselves and their kids and deal with the thought you didn’t help them when you could have.

And we are far from government sponsored abortion (directly anyway), but I do like the idea of starting to lower the amount of money a single mom can get, and force her to either start supporting herself or look for non-government charities. Perhaps allow existing welfare recipients to be grandfathered at a higher rate that new recipients. I am definitely more on the tough love side of the argument, I don’t think the government should be in the charity business, but I am not comfortable with children suffering either.

Here is a dangerous idea that is more misogynistic than the systematic annihilation of the female sex. Demand that single women with 2 or more kids that haven’t had a job for an extended period get sterilized. Deny welfare until they comply with the rule and do what should be commonsense. 2 kids are easier to deal with then 8, in fact two replaces both the mother and farther so I don’t see an issue with it. It’s not going to get rid of the problem but it will make it a non issue.
