For what it’s worth, I agree with you. It’s not like it’s that big of a deal and it really doesn’t happen much anyway. And you’re right it’s easy to avoid.

The reason I am “monk”, a term I don’t even use myself or consciously think of or identify with, is simply because my libido dropped and I just don’t have the interest or desire. I think that is different than someone that has the desire and interest and genuinely wants to be around women, but just isn’t welcome or is trying to fight that urge.

But it is my understanding that desire drops with age. I have other colleagues that say the same. So I don’t actually really understand very well how older men are thirsty. No man should really ever be thirsty, albeit I can understand it for young, inexperienced men. It just makes no sense to me for men beyond that.

And I agree with the OP’s statement that a true MGTOW will never think of female validation or partner counts as a means of judging other MGTOW, or even as a positive in his own favor. I myself likely have a higher partner count, especially on quality, than the vast majority on here, but you’ll only see me mention something like that if I am pressed into it, to explain my knowledge or to defend my statements, which I shouldn’t ever have to in the first place. Never to belittle another man, never to try and raise my own stature, because it was only ever for my own needs and desires anyway. Once someone actually gets to that mindset, it seems to me it would be ridiculous to ever care or ever desire to chase women.

Truth is, beyond a certain age, it is unquestionably women that desperate chase men. The problem for women is they are awful at it, and by then most of the higher quality men have absolutely zero desire for them. And that does mean those women specifically, but honestly for most older men it extends to women in general. Even the mythical unicorn female won’t move the needle for a man that is just truly done.

I went “monk mode” for 8 years because dating in my age range is a horrible experience, I am 57.

Then, within the last 6 months I started hiring a professional girl once every few weeks. I remembered how much I like the feel of a woman and even a woman’s kind words when kept to a minimum.
