Guatemala has a low divorce rate despite the social problems they have: poverty, crime. I wonder why couples decide to stay together there…for better or worse.

That opens a lot questions.
It seems the more opportunity a woman has to move up the more likely the divorce rate will go up.
Is divorce a bad thing? It’s used as this metric to measure a societies success or failure. Is that really what the divorce metric indicates? I doubt it is that simple. I don’t know what a divorce rate indicates. I’m sure whatever someone tells me it means, they are most likely incomplete, if not just plain wrong.
