This is a funny “phenomenon” I’m sure a fair majority of you have experienced. Lemme set up an example.

When I was a child, I was told “Unless you ask for something, you won’t get it”. Makes sense. People can’t read minds and you miss 100% of worth-while opportunities.

When I used to live with my mother, she used to do this thing. I’d say, “I’m heading to the mall to eat something (used to live a half-mile away from it lol). She would say “ok”. When I get back, she would ALWAYS say “Where’s Mine?!”, in a “play-ful”, “joking” manner. I’d also “laugh” it off, but I knew it wasn’t long. As time progressed, she finally said what she meant- “You’re so selfish why don’t you think of other people”.

I simply replied “I’m not a mind reader. If you want something, you’ll tell me. Adults use words and communicate. That’s what YOU taught ME”.

She of course got mad and tried to waste more time “Your selfish and a pig and disrespectful and blah blah blah.”

And I simply said, “Adults speak when they want something. If they want me to get them something, they’ll give me the appropriate amount of money and tell me, AND the amount of narcissism it takes to ASSUME someone will just buy you things you don’t ask for is off the charts”.

Yeah I hate that s~~~. Have had similar discussions with girlfriends over the years things like,

Me: “I’m making a sandwich, do you want one?”

Her: “No, I’m ok”

I come back with sandwich…

Her: “Oh that looks good”

Me: “I did offer”

Her: “I know, but I didn’t know you were going to make something that good”

It’s a woman thing, they don’t want to ask because they feel they are entitled to just receive things, of course if you make/buy them something they said no to they will accuse you of not listening to them.

I did consider a response and that would have been a good one, but they’d broken off from a group of around 10 people (a few of them fellas). just wasn’t worth it in the end, and the friend was visibly drunk. I had a feeling it could have turned nasty, quite quicky.

F~~~ing french fries. I’d go get some fast food and ask if my gf wanted any french fries. She would always say no, and then when I came back, she’d have “one or two” and end up eating half. Which is fine, but f~~~ing tell me, make up your f~~~ing mind and stick with it.

Part of me thinks it’s a manipulative/ training thing. They’ll try to train you like a little dog to fetch them things without being asked to or told to, be a better slave.

For f~~~ sake, women don’t even know what they want to eat, let alone what the f~~~ they want out of life.

I also just remembered another thing: Straight up eating YOUR food. Like you hand it too them to hold and they take a bite out of it. Or licking your ice-cream, etc.

I’m somewhat of a germaphobe (not really I just like cleanliness), so I would rather be the only one eating my food.

My mom did this 100% of the time when I was younger (and would still do it given the chance), and one female friend. That was the last time she did that however, because I told her to not lol.

It was a hotdog in fact and the second she did that, I put it down, took out my pocket-knife, and cut the bitten part off. She was “offended”, but I D G A F.
