Hey guys, I’m seeking your advice in determining where to settle down!
Here are my criteria- any advice/suggestions would be appreciated!1) Moderate winters. Summers can be hot. (So maybe in the South, or West Coast?)
2) Easy Access to a Beach. (So it has to be on a Coast).
3) Mountain trails available to hike.
4) Bicycle friendly.
5) Low to medium cost of living. Definitely not as expensive as New York.
6) Excellent WiFi and other amenities.
7) Intelligent population.
8) Tolerant/Non-Racist.Thank you!
This sounds like a rural setting in the deep south of the USA to me. Or certain Central and South American countries.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
Renounce your citizenship and move outside the US. Seriously.
Look up how far reaching US tax laws are, how the system is about to implode, and how the good ol’ US of A is a Nazi State already.
Try Panama, they take dollars, it’s cheaper to live, warmer, wetter, mountains, stable gov and income and large US presence and connections.
Or other middle and S. American countries, or a number of smaller countries that have huge tax benefits….

So because of my profession, I have to stay in the United States, at least while I’m earning. That would rule out the Central/South American countries.
I’m worried about the rural areas because of tentative racism….I’m asian and I’m pretty sure we’re not liked much in the rural areas haha.

Can’t do it- there is no way I can make as much outside the country as I can inside the country. The difference is $150K-$250K+Benefits inside the U.S. vs. $15-20K outside, if I’m lucky. I want to stay in the U.S., earn, invest, and then go and spend it overseas.
But I will consider the countries you suggested when I retire..Panama sounds great.
I would avoid Texas. The heat can be more than a little stifling.
Also, the allergies can be just awful. Allergy testing and treatment is one of the largest medical industries in the State of Texas.
"I asked you a question. I didn't ask you to repeat what the voices in you head are telling you" ~ Me. ........Yes I'm still angry.

Really? Texas was actually on my shortlist because it has no income tax and cost of living is dirt cheap. Plus, I like cruises and there is a port in Texas (Galveston) that does that.
Is the heat super insufferable? Maybe I’ll look at Georgia, S. Carolina, and N. Carolina then?
I know it doesn’t fit some of your criteria, but if you love to hike, it is very hard to beat Western Washington for both quantity and quality. I mean hell we have the tallest mountain in the lower 48. I have been hiking for years and I still haven’t managed to hike all the trails available.
As for your other criteria:
1) Moderate winters. Summers can be hot. (So maybe in the South, or West Coast?)
Winters are rainy, but rarely freezing temps. Summers have been getting warmer but generally 70-80s for most of summer.
2) Easy Access to a Beach. (So it has to be on a Coast).
We have coasts, though not very good beaches.
3) Mountain trails available to hike.
See above.
4) Bicycle friendly.
Probably as friendly as you will find in a car crazy culture like the USA. But lots of hills, so good exercise.
5) Low to medium cost of living. Definitely not as expensive as New York.
This is the sticking point, this place has one of the fastest cost of living grows in the country right now. Housing is really bad.
6) Excellent WiFi and other amenities.
Yeah, for a tech city, Seattle is really ass backwards about internet.
7) Intelligent population.
Depends on your definition.
8) Tolerant/Non-Racist.
F~~~ tons of asians here. Hell I think there were more asians at the community college I went to than any other races. Though this can be a big SJW s~~~hole sometimes.I think that it will be difficult to find a place that meets all the criterium you set forth. But it sounds like you have options that fit many of them.
Nirvanna is never having to worry about a woman ever again.
I have to concur with Soldier-Medic on the allergy situation in Texas, a lot of it due to the wind, the heat is not so bad in the Texas panhandle, but down south towards Houston it can be hot. Been to Washington state and agree with Budtao, it’s excellent.
"what a waste of a life, to marry, give up your freedom, just for the hope of not dying alone. Don't get married Son."
Intelligent population.
Tall order.
I saw the question…. and thought “wherever you lay your hat – that’s your home”…..
…… and as an afterthought ……
Why settle down? When time catches up with you…. keep moving!!

California. Ski or swim on the same day. Mountain trails for hiking. It’s all there. But I can’t help with the intelligent population or low cost of living. $150K will buy you a house in Vegas. $500K in Palm Springs. But it’s 2 hours from the Ocean. The “pace” is much slower than New York.
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.I’ve got a friend who is talking about putting down roots in Hawaii, on the big island away from the resort towns. I’ve looked into it just a little bit to see how realistic that appears to be… what do you guys think?
Aside from the obvious higher cost of living (due to most things being imported) and the possibility of having island fever (probably not an issue for self-directed people who are done with the bulls~~~ of society) I don’t see any immediate drawbacks. Excluding volcanic activity and maybe being killed and eaten by the natives when they reclaim their independent nation status.
Anyone have any experience with living in Hawaii?

Hmm…you know, WA was not on my list before, but I’ll consider it. Cost of living is a major sticking point for me because I want to retire early = save as much as possible. But we’ll see. Thanks for the input!

I want to buy and maintain a medical practice- owners of medical practices make more money than those working in hospitals. So that’s why I want to settle down. But it’d be for 10-15 years, not lifelong.

I like Cali, but it’s saturated with doctors, which is another reason why I’m not looking at Cali or NY.

Hawaii is gorgeous man. Definitely make a few trips before you put down roots there though!

I was actually thinking that…..
If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.You don’t want to live in California, the water bills are crazy and it’s getting worse since Nestle is pumping water 24/7 like crazy.
Nestle continues to sell bottled water sourced from California despite record drought

Best places to me:
San Diego, CA
Galveston, Tx
Clearwater Fl (cheap cost of living, doesn’t really have a winter (gets chilly a few times in the year though)
Miami Fl
Orlando Fl
Mobile Al (probably racist, but rednecks usually don’t give a f~~~ about your ethnicity unless you spew SJW crap) Near the coast, very cheap in terms of living
New Orleans Louisiana (Same as Mobile Al)
Panama City Fl
Myrtle Beach, NC
Savannah, Georgia
Norfolk, VA (Moderate winters, very close to beach, is on the coast)
Corpus Christie, TX
I am thinking maybe the beach area of Southern Alabama. But if you are looking for tolerance then that would not be the place for you.
Women are parasites. Each and every last one of them.

Yeah I’m Asian and I don’t want to be discriminated against. So I’m ruling out Alabama, Mississippi, etc. for those reasons.
You know, this is what I can’t stand about some people in minority groups. They always state their ethnicity like we give a f~~~. I even hear some black MGTOWers doing it. Well, for one, racists exist in every state. Two, I’m mixed, I don’t give a f~~~ about your ethnicity. Three, most southerners aren’t racist. Dems lied to you about that.
If I were to walk into a black neighborhood, they’d be racist against me because a lot of them support the “black lives matter movement”. If I were to walk into an Asian neighborhood, I’d be treated differently at first. Same with any other ethnicity.
So if you’re deciding where you’re going to settle down by how many racists are in a certain area, you might as well move to the moon. Or Alaska and start a homestead and live like a hermit.

I hear you brother, I”m Asian myself. I’m Canada and the rural areas can be divided on racism. Females tend to be nicer to you whereas it’s usually the males are the ones are the problem. I like rural area better though because there’s lower crime, You need to find a good rural area where they are desperate for doctors.
Here’s a list of states that are more racists than others. It’s a start though it’s seems to be based on people’s experiences. http://www.thetoptens.com/least-racist-states-us/

When I was eight and first immigrated to this country, I was held up at knifepoint and nearly killed because of my race.
A few years later, people made fun of my skin color and used it to exclude me from groups at recess or even study groups.
When you have so many experiences of being excluded based on your race which end up making you unhappy, you develop a protective instinct to avoid those kinds of situations in the future.
I’m not basing my decision on settling down 100% on # of racists, and I know every state has this happening. But it is a factor in my decision-making because I want to be happy and not discriminated against in the future.
If that disturbs you, then I can’t do anything about it.
And for the record, I never said that most southerners are racists- if you noticed- I suggested S. Carolina, N. Carolina, and GA as potential options that I liked.
