This question is geared towards newer MGTOWs, but I’d love to hear everyones aspirations. Where do you see yourselves in 5 years? What do you REALLY want to do with your life? Hobbies you want to take up? Savings? Living situation?

I’m still thinking about what I want, so will reply later but in the mean time – Spill!

This is a GREAT question but I also hate it – for a reason. Glad you brought it up. It should be the subject of an article because you will get asked this trick question in interviews too. I have been asked this in employment screenings / interviews / and over the phone and I f~~~ing hate it. I also tell them straight out that it’s silly and unrealistic. But most importantly, it’s far too limiting.

So I will tell you what I tell them. This is now my stock response:

“5 year goals are much too limiting. If you asked me 5 years ago where I would be today, I would not have believed you. And if you asked me 10 years ago , where I would be 5 years ago, I would not have believed you either. My life is NO WHERE NEAR what I imagined 10 years ago. I’m living in a new country now! I couldn’t have planned it even if I WANTED to. And this came from a SMALL opportunity I created for myself many years ago.

The trick is to set short 6-month goals and to constantly be creating opportunities for yourself. IN doing so, you open doors for yourself and CREATE CHOICES. A man is not “rich” when he has money. He is rich when he has CHOICES. The poorest people have the fewest CHOICES. When you create CHOICES, there are little paths that open up for you. You want the ability to choose whether to go right or left as much as possible. If you make a GOOD short term goal and attain it, you proceed in that direction. If you make a BAD choice, you can take a step back and go the other way.

But if you set a 5 year goal in only ONE SPECIFIC DIRECTION you severely limit yourself along the way and restrict your path into only one direction which you don’t deviate from for FIVE F~~~ING YEARS!!!! Who wants to do the last 5 years over again??

So lets say you have a 5-year goal.
A LOT can happen in 5 years that you weren’t counting on.
In fact, life will GUARANTEE to throw a few monkeys in the wrench and f~~~ up your plan.
Perhaps the business you set out to start fails.
Perhaps the company you wanted to work for the next 10 years closes and goes under.
Perhaps you wanted to have your house paid off in 5 years,
but you lost your job after 18 months and couldn’t get one for another 9 months.

5-year goals are like tying your hands behind you back and telling yourself to RUN blind folded in one direction only, and then removing the blindfold in 5 years to see where you ended up.

    VERY Bad idea.”

Now, after saying that some stupid HR bitch, you would think she would recognize the tremendous value in what you just said. Even if she doesn’t agree at all, you would think she would at least give you points for originality. Especially if you can show that your life has gone in some pretty amazing new directions rather quickly. I would hire a person who gave that answer in 2 seconds. “you start monday!”. But the f~~~ing gay c~~~s who ask that question WANTED TO HEAR A SPECIFIC BULLS~~~ ANSWER. And they will think there is something WRONG with you (or not hire you) because you didn’t tell the stupid unthinking t~~~ whatever bulls~~~ she wanted to hear.

    Not your problem.

So I will then ask her, where were YOU five years ago?
IN EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE DOING THE SAME THING YOU ARE RIGHT NOW. RIGHT???
And that’s why 5 year goals are stupid. Because I don’t want to be like that.

For 5 years….. she’s been asking people on the f~~~ing phone “what are your 5 year goals?”.
Perhaps the dumb c~~~ should ask HERSELF that question.

Just consider this website which we started 8 months ago. It could have flopped or gotten stale. In which case, after 6 months, we would have sold it, and started on a new venture. 6 month goal. That’s what Im talking about. But because its’ been enormously successful and MGTOW is exploding we will stick with it for another 6 months and re-evaluate then. Hopefully traffic will quadruple again and then we will continue for another 6 months. In the mean time, we will continue to create opportunities for ourselves and who knows where it will lead?!!

This – to me – is the most fantastic thing about life. Always maintaining a certain amount of healthy uncertainty and chaos. It keeps you on top of your game. Because if we limit ourselves to this project only, we could really screw ourselves out of some great things along the way.

I HATE this question. The kind of company that asks this question in an interview has just told me they are the LAST company I would ever want to work for. I want a goddam raise and promotion after 6 months. That’s what I will work for. And if I don’t get it, I am GONE. Im not sticking around for 5 years to “wait an see”. That’s for the lazy and complacent.

I hope you see the value in it.
thank you for your inspiring thought.

And welcome! if I didn’t say it already.

@britghow Very kind of you. Inspiring right back. Humbled by the question. Yes, you could say I have written a book. Short chapters on various specific thoughts (like this) on an array of single concepts / situations. 6+ years in the making. Some totally unorganized 650-700 pages of chaos. The collection is an unsorted mess, and I have not yet found a way to link it all into a volume. But you can be sure your generous comment just prodded me.

I don’t mind saying I thought you might be put off by my answer because it doesn’t answer your question, and maybe you have set 5 year goals for yourself because you believe that’s the best thing to do. It was not my intention to shoot down the question, but I have heard the question a HUNDRED times, and have thought about it 1,000 times. I found thinking about it (^^^ as I did above) to be a great way to disqualify the question as relevant.

It’s very personal to me, because not long ago I was contracted part time at a 100% female-infested workplace, and some ridiculous recruiter lady working across the room picked up the phone interviewing candidates before a first interview. She asked that “5 year” question – thinking it was relevant in determining whether the applicant should have an interview at all. Can you imagine some company disqualifying the potentially right person for a job based on what their “5- year goals” is?? Their 5-year goal is none of her business! Her business is to find the right person for a FIRST INTERVIEW. Thats it. Not to try and get in someone’s head with a question that really tells her nothing about how qualified a person is. So I devised my response to internally shoot down the question and anyone who asks it, because the REAL AND TRUE answer (when you think about it) is actually BETTER than the question itself.

So I’m very glad (and pleasantly surprised) you approve – even though I didn’t really give you the answer you wanted.

    Cheers!

@ Keymaster: You really seem to be somewhat of a rhetorical genius which is very inspiring to me, because I very eagerly work on that front myself as well. To me it’s simply not enough to be bilingual (as in totally fluent in German and English of which the latter language no longer is any real worthy skill to me since it after all is a comparatively excuse my french “p~~~ easy language” to learn, no offense, but hey…). No, I want to continue to get more and more rhetorically fit not the least to ultimately be able to partially outsmart women in the most sleazy happy go lucky type of way possible. That in my point of view (besides driving them nuts and then eventually at one point sending them along their solitary way whenever I like to) is real aspirational power (correct me if I may be wrong). Anyway, very good answer from your end, cheers!!!

I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Hallo und vielen Dank, mein Freund. I habe deinen intro gelesen aber leider bis jetzt dich nicht ordnungsgemäß Begrüßt. Herzlich wilkommen bei MGTOW.

French is easier because it only has IL and ELLE. Der boden. Die Wand.

Aber Der, Den, dir, dich… wie es richtig geht weis Ich nicht.

The knife is masculine. The spoon is neuter. The fork is feminine. In English it’s just “the”…. but then again, we have “heard” and “herd”. So when in Rome we’ll just speak in English.

Being rhetorically fit (cool expression – did you just make that up?) when dealing with women is what I have found to be the most instant and effective way to disarm them. I am not interested in fighting because disarming is too easy. This comes from a lot of exposure to many females at a young age. Like growing up with 300 sisters while not being related to any of them. A manipulation can be spotted a mile away. All that’s required is to understand “force”.

It’s been pointed out here before….

    Men understand force EXPLICITLY.
We use bombs, guns, knives, fists, etc. to neutralize a threat.

    Women understand force IMPLICITLY.
They use social manipulation, backstabbing, deflections, and ostracizing from a group to try and “win”.

Knowing this means your fighter jets are useless against an enemy that fights you on the ground no matter how skilled you are at navigating the skies. Sure you can take them out, but sticks and stones is what they are using, as you know.

Being rhetorically fit allows you to keep your hands in your pockets and whistle while you walk. A woman once lobbed a remote control at my face and missed. I didn’t throw it back at her. I took her purse and threw it FAR into the street. “better go get it!!!” When she runs out screaming after at (and they always do) you bolt the door behind her and don’t even mail her her shoes. Then call the door man and tell him never to let her in again. Problem solved.

    http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view1/1619713/indiana-jones-gun-beats-sword-o.gif

Another time, a woman approached me trying to provoke an emotional (and even violent) response. I sat way back in my chair and smiled. This reaction infuriated her to no end. As she grew angrier, I smiled more. There’s really nothing to it. Fortunately, most of the time all you need to do is hold a mirror up to her. Take whatever she says and reflect it back,

    • “that’s interesting, why would you say that?”
    • “that’s interesting, why would you do that?”
    • “that’s interesting, why would you think that?”

….. then you watch in amusement and amazement because you will not believe what is reflected back to you. The enemy opens herself right up. She does all the work explaining herself and you won’t have to. Women love to talk about themselves. If you ask her something about HERSELF, she will be FASCINATED and she will think you’re the most understanding and interesting guy she has met in a long time. Just ask her a question about HERSELF and sit back and let her blab. They love that.

Have a collection (over a LONG period of time) of quick witted retorts to shut her up with basic every-day examples, and there have been many requests for this. We are very much looking forward to publishing it in time in a sort of mini-volume which users will also be able to contribute to. Although I would be the first to tell you not to argue with women, there is no denying it’s a goddam art form , WILDLY entertaining, and it will be called something like “how to argue with a woman and win”. It’s coming. Together with some genius tidbits from others here, it will make for some hilarious edutainment.

Again thanks for being here and have enjoyed your comments thus far, although I am very late in saying it.
Hope to read more from you.

I have to be honest. I will probably be borderline homeless still searching for any kind of job. When Canada keeps on giving women and minorities jobs first before Canadian white men, it makes it nearly impossible for me to find a job. But that is the world we live in. So sadly, I am forced to leach off the system when all I want to do is work.

My options are to continue looking for work in this s~~~ hole city, move to another city for work, move to another country for work, go to college for something to better my resume. Who knows what I end up doing. It is all up in the air right now.

Here do I see myself in five years:

    1. Hopefully still employed.
    2. Hopefully still contributing (if you can call it that) to MGTOW.
    3. Hopefully five years wiser and five years richer.

Well as KeyMaster already said, it’s unrealistic.

I used to have exact plans for every year. It always turned out to go very different ways.

After I noticed that, I stopped it.

5 years ago I would never have expected my life to go the ways it did. So it’s all just a surprise. You can make up goals and can work on them, but in the end, something will still get random. It’s the universe, not just a dice. Nothing is more random than life. And if your life isn’t random enough try playing the “say Yes” game or something. But don’t get married.

I’ve been an unofficial member of MGTOW, since I didn’t know this group existed until today, for about 6 years…which is when I swore off relationships with women.  In that time I have gotten clean from drugs, stopped drinking, and found a stable job that I have no fear of losing.

I recently, in the past two years, gotten myself out of debt, I was 10,000+ dollars in the hole because of drugs that I started on…from a relationship I was in.  Go figure.  I bought a brand new car a couple years ago and have a very good chance of purchasing a condo in the next three years.  I would probably say I see myself on the road to being financially stable with no fear of having to give any of my belongings away because of a divorce.  I will be happily independent.

I have to say, for the first time in my life, I am truly happy with my situation.  Being on ones own is certainly a blessing and I recommend it to anyone.  After all, isn’t it married men that always say ‘I wish I was single again’?

In 5 years, I have planned that I will first pay of old student debts for a degree I never finish.  Somewhere near the 3-4 year mark at the current payment plan I have set for myself.  I also am trying to get into an online university, (waiting to hear back from them currently) and in 4 years will have completed a BS in CompSci.  Oddly enough @keymaster speaks of choices and I have gotten back into my passion of golf.  This gives me inner enrichment and I would like to get into some paid tournaments and make a career out of it.  This is the dream, but only a dream and not a guarantee as much as the degree could offer me.  Never the less, it is something I will pursue and am teaching beginners; this motivates me to become better than I perceived myself previously.  After the student debt is paid off, I’ll have all this extra money going into my pockets I could use however I please.  Ideally I would like to own a piece of land where I can turn it into a business related to golf.

Along with these plans in the long term, short term 6 months I will continue working out body and mind.  My goal by the end of this year is to be 150 lbs from my scrawny 127 at the beginning of the year, currently I’m topping out at 135 but I have an upwards slope of .116 since I started tracking my progress.  This not only adds the benefit of eating healthier and feeling better, buy my performance related to golf is spectacular and the physical labor at work becoming easier.  It’s imperative that I continue reading subject matter related to MGTOW and TRP.  Not only for my own thirst for knowledge, but for the personal growth and lessons they instill.  I’ve never been much of a reader of books, but they have suddenly become appealing for how easy it is to extract information (and entertainment) from those instead of people.  Another short term goal is to just see more of the state I live in.  It’s so easy for me to hunker down, but I don’t want easy any more.  I want the challenge to greatness.

KeyMaster makes a very good point, so I will give two answers. The first will be the more realistic 6 month projection that KeyMaster favours. In 6 months I will reconsider the way things are going and form a new plan. The second will be the 5 year projection that you originally asked for, based on how things are for me now.

Currently I am a biology student in university, finishing my 3rd year. Before that, I spent two years at UofT as an engineering science student. This has given me a nice advantage over other biology students in terms of physics, computer programming, and presentation skills.

Over 6 months, I expect to be halfway through the first term of my 4th year of biology. I will have a significant amount of progress in the thesis project that I intend to work on. I hope as well to have a better idea of what I want to study in the future. I have already had the opportunity to study and research with a physics professor and yearn for the chance to study and work on a thesis project with a biology professor. Given my skills and contacts, I believe I have a good chance at this. If so, I will begin over the summer.

If my 5 year projection goes as I am thinking at this moment, I will progress towards getting my PhD. I enjoy studying at university. I hope to have useful contributions towards scientific study and/or academic structure. I hope in the long term to consolidate my physics and biology knowledge and study either biophysics, bioinformatics, bioengineering, or some other scientific branch that involves using both fields of study.

Of course another 5 year projection is that I may return to UofT and retry engineering science. The last time I had a difficult time, but my knowledge and ethic is improved from 5 years ago when I was originally in engineering science.

Honestly, anything else beyond that I’m not overly sure and don’t tend to think about. I’d like to try to pick up a martial art or archery. I used to do a little bit of archery, but that was when I worked at camp as a specialist and had frequent access to an archery range. I also recently tried to learn Bagua circle walking, but so far I have only picked up the basics. Maybe I can pick up some other useful and/or interesting skills, but I’m not sure what yet.

I have grown less interested in particularly social pursuits since I discovered MGTOW, and even in my blue pill days I rarely though about social goals. I used to want a girlfriend, but now I’m not interested in that. I have no idea where I expect to be with regards to socialization 6 months from now, much less 5 years from now. That I will figure out as I go. I am still young and lacking in perspective.
