After the divorce or relationship breakdown many of you, myself included, find that your ex-pumpkin of 3 months or even 30 years, goes completely rogue.

This new creature is unrecognisable from the quiet, safe partner or loving wife you once thought you had.

Your ex is now out whoring, drinking to excess, getting tattoos, world cruises on your pension, being amoral and taking all manner of bad life choices that would be completely alien to the woman you knew.

You struggle with questions like “how can she do this?”, “how could she turn so quickly?” and “how come she’s able to change so much for the worst?”.

WRONG.

She didn’t change or go off the rails at all.

All that simply happened was the MASK FELL OFF.

She was always this way, but in marriage and for a time in her life suppressed it until a time she no longer had to fake it or put on an act for you.

Women are masters of deception and lies, and they’re CHAMELEONS.

Quite simply, she’s NOT who you thought she was.

The whole relationship or marriage you had with her was sadly, just an illusion.

She KNEW what made you tick, and locked into your psyche to be the person you want in your life.

They are master manipulators and lying is like breathing to them.

BUT, surely not keep it up for 20 years or more?

YES FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES OR THERE IS SOME BENEFIT TO STAYING WITH YOU.

Once your utility is used up, or she sees no further benefit being with you, or a better proposition comes along then,

WHAM YOU ARE OUT.

It’s THAT sudden, and makes many men question their sanity, how could she do this, how could she be this way, she’s the complete inverse to who I married. WTF.

Yes, she is and was ALWAYS that WAY.

That is how she moves on so quickly, with no compassion or empathy.
She hasn’t changed at all. She’s now just got the freedom to do this and so drops the mask, she doesn’t change overnight at all.

This is why so many men are left saying WHAT THE ACTUAL F~~~.

Remember, it’s not YOU.

It really is THEM.

Don’t be taken in, don’t be deceived.

Women, marriage, all of it.

One BIG LIE perpetrated by them, the system and a massive illusion in your head.

KNOWING this should help you move on too.

You lost nothing because you actually had LESS than NOTHING.

I will be honest. Neo, what you’ve gone through seems like hell. I cannot compare my divorce to yours. For that, I am sorry you had to experience what you had to experience.

In addition, you are correct, the person you marry is not the person you divorce. Logically speaking, if something doesn’t work, you try to fix it. If it cannot be fixed, you part ways. It still amazes me how the world turns upside down when you attempt to untie the knot. It shouldn’t be that way. I never understood, in this day and age, where both work, how the other party has access to 50% or more of YOUR assets and retirement for doing nothing. It makes no sense.

As for the “new” woman you see. Well, as my therapist used to say, people have many faces for the different people in their lives. I rebutted, not necessarily true. I have the same face for everyone. It’s called honesty. No reason to hide it.

Thanks for writing this, Matrix. You are 100% accurate on this. My ex’s transformation overnight completely blindsided me and for several days I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience. I fought off panic attacks several times, and I remember the sick, burning knot in my stomach (that I’ve never felt since). It was the most awful feeling and I will NEVER let a woman do that to me again.
