Recently I have been preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse (ZA).

In no particular order I have been stockpiling food, water and ammo. Every month I try to purchase more food and/or more Ammo.

Jesus, I hope I never end up on the news. You know story, crazy man hermit has more ammo than we think he should have. Idiots. You can never have too much ammo.

I keep a bug out bag with basic camping supplies including Water Purification tablets, several ways to make fire and stuff for an emergency shelter.

In my part of the world water isn’t that hard to come by, you can always strain and boil it. So I only keep a few weeks worth.

I found a way that works for me to stockpile food.
Every so often I buy long term storage food.
It is the same entrées that the U.S. Soldiers get in their MREs. You only get the entrées, no sugar water drink,no heat source, etc. You can buy this particular brand at Walmart. A lot of backpackers buy it.

So I buy this stuff in bulk from Amazon. Then I eat some and save/store some. Doesn’t taste bad at least not to me. Doesn’t look pretty though.

I can cook but I don’t like too.
So, two birds one stone. I have even lost weight by doing this.
The stuff is light and will be good to eat long after I am pushing up daisy’s.

There are cheaper ways to feed yourself. This is the easy way, not the budget way. Hey I’m lazy. Shrug.

Funny story, I have friends that are so far left they are gonna fall of the edge of the world one day.
The hate firearms and don’t care much for people that own them.

One day the topic of the ZA comes up and they tell me that when the s~~~ hits the fan, me and my firearms are more than welcome to bunker down at their place. They will have food. Like I don’t have food b/c I live alone and male. Assholes.

I smile and say ‘sure thing’. In my head I am thinking f~~~ that. I’m hauling ass to my other buddies house. The buddy that was Army Infantry. We have already discussed it. 🙂

It is always great to plan and continue preparing. Pistol Pete recently gave me an update on his household foodstocks, very impressive.

Whit the ZA might not occur soon, any number of inclement weather situations will remind you of why you want to be prepared for any disaster.

When it comes to ammo let the following be your montra.
Buy cheap
Stack deep

But you’re not a serious prepper until you cast and reload your own ammo. But even then its just a prudent hobby.

What value does a woman offer a man that he cannot get cheaper and easier on his own?

I always find it amusing when news people gasp in shock that someone would have more than 1 weapon and OMG 500 rounds in their home. Stupid Media.

Yeah. 500 rounds is barely enough for a weekend of fun.

Like the old adage, you do not have to own a pickup truck …. you just have to know someone who does.

Provide the supplies (dies, bullets, casing, etc.) and ask a friend to expand his hobby just a bit.

Most of my horde consists of:
.22
.223
.22-250
.45 acp
And shotgun shells

I got a box or 2 for replica Peace Maker and other misc. caliber’s

.22, .223, 9mm, .45, .308 and 7.5×55, plus lots and lots of shotgun rounds. The .45 is just in case Pistol Pete shows up. There is of course the misc ammo for keeping the collectors weapons functioning.

I run with .45, 9mm and .38 Special for the handguns. The rifles are 7.62x39mm, 7.62x54mm, .30-06, .308, 5.56mm, .22 WMR , .22.

I have others, those are just the ones I stock pile ammo for.

I overpaid for it but at the time there wasn’t much else around except for cheap wall hangers and really expensive s~~~ out of Japan.
